Day 10, June 26, was scheduled as a 50 mile easy ride day. Shawn and I left Boise with Brad and Steve with the idea of taking it easy. We follow the Boise River, seen above, out of town and quickly found our way onto I-84. I am not a fan of riding the interstate, but almost 40 miles of our ride was on the highway. The interstate does not offer too much of a photo opportunity and brown grassland is not that exciting, so the only other picture I have is of the Boise River Dam. The ride itself was a slow one because of a nasty headwind on the interstate. We took advantage of the short day by making our way through the factory outlouts outside of Boise, and stopping at a cafe. Other than the wrong turn on the directions, everyone made it to Mountian Home, Idaho in time to enjoy the pool and the sunny afternoon. This is also the day that Shawn and I finally got our roommate, John Paul, from Connecticut. He joined us in Boise and that is why we were fortunate to have our own room for the first week of the trip. |
