Community Service Team responsibilities

Whether the Community Service Team meets monthly or less often, as a group they carry the responsibility to support adult volunteers and to guide the planning of Community activities.  These include:

• Create an annual Community Strategic Plan to recruit girls and adults, with particular attention on reaching underserved girl populations.

• Provide a Community Orientation and ongoing support for adult volunteers.

• Make decisions within the framework of the Girl Scout Mission, Policies and Standards.

• Increase creative and widening program opportunities for girls and adults.

• Develop an agenda for and hold monthly Community Meetings with relevant information to better serve Girl Scouts.

• To plan for and increase creative program opportunities and widening opportunities for girls and adults.

• Receive professional assistance from Girl Scouts - Circle T Council staff members.

• Keep Girl Scouting visible in local communities.

The Troop Service Manager  may appoint other volunteers to the Service Team to meet specific needs.

Troop Service Manager TSM- Cathy Hodge (817-557-3533): Volunteer manager for Community. Appoints Service Team members. Ensures volunteers fulfill responsibilities of their positions. Chairs regularly schedule Service Team and Community Leaders Meetings. Appoints other Service Team members and delegates Community tasks to them.

Community Training Specialist - Alice Inglis: Ensure that all new leaaders are trained; Inform leaders of training opportunities and set up training if necessary. Guides the Girl Scout leaders through the year.

Membership Coordinator -OPEN : Plans and supervises recruitment events, Back-to-School nights, etc.  Informs the Service Team of all recruitment activity happening throughout the Community. This would include placement of girls from waiting list, exchange of effective recruitment strategies and gaps in service caused by lack of School Organizers or oversights. Maintains the waiting list.

Troop Organizers:  Winding Roads has a Troop Organizer for each school within the Winding Roads Community. Troop Organizers organize recruitments at the school by scheduling dates for recruitments and distributing flyers, and signs throughout the school. Help form new troops and sign up leaders.  The Troop Organizers are the main contact for each school regarding questions about recruitments. Troop Organizers report directly to the Membership Coordinator.

Family Giving Coordinator - Tabatha Knickerbocker [email protected]: Ensures Family Giving is promoted and organized in the Community.

Registrar - Debbie Dever (817-561-0539) :Ensures Community volunteers and girls are registered in a timely manner and forms are completed properly. Keeps Service Team informed of each troop’s registration status. Promotes Spring Re-registration. Maintains registration records within the Community.
