Beloved
The picture that you see above was created by Maysa Arabit, the very same person upon whom i based my character in the book. Within its pages you will find more of her sketches and Earl John Desuasido's as well.
I think this is one of my more surrealistic musings.  It came into being after i watched "Shakespeare in Love." Like so many who had watched the film, I was so inspired...
Metaphysical Kiss

How I relish saying your name!
(though you are not the one I
am currently addressing)

How I savor the syllables sliding
against my tonguethat I
could almost taste the
sweet-cadences of the sound!

I speak your name and the very air
quivers upon my lips like a shy kiss
  fleetingly touching the shimmering edge
of a disappearing rainbow

I whisper your name in the
mute-stillness and the stillness
begins to stir

For, like a haunting tune,
it unceasingly sings, beating
like a hidden heart filled with
fiery life and unbearable delight

The sound of your name slides down
the walls of my lonely room
caressing each surface with passion
barely controlled, creeping
with stealthy, playful little steps

ready to spring forth once again
from the smile secretly
hiding within my soul

How I relish saying your name
for it sounds like the smooth flowing
of jelled ink across expensive white paper

or the whisper of a turning page
as it mates with the one
awaiting its sensuous fall

Your name is the whisper of flowery scents
that sail on the creases of a silken night

It is the shower of light poured out
by a knowing moon as it bathes
the stretched-out arms of naked trees

Your name is the sigh of a lonely pebble
drowning in the dark depths
of a star-dappled pool

whereat the bottom it finds a welcoming
bed of throbbing notes
whereupon it retires to awaken before dawn

I speak your name and it feels like
you are already here,
as though you were about to take me
into your embrace

I say your name and it is your kiss
upon my waiting lips

And for now, I am satisfied,
relishing the feel
of this metaphysical kiss
