A Cell Is To a Movie

 

                      A movie studio is like a cell for many reasons. They both have specialized parts or people. That is why they are so much a like and they are comparable. They might not seem like two objects that have anything in common but if you look at my model they are very similar. Just keep reading and you will see what I mean.

                       First the cell wall gives shape and protects the cell as well as supporting it. This I think is like the actual building that the studio is in. It protects and supports the studio.

                     Then there is the cell membrane. It controls what goes in and out of the cell. I think that is like the security guard from the studio. They control who enters and who does not. They are also in charge of the security of the cell just as the cell membrane has that same responsibility. For example if the security guard were to let a thief into the studio then the studio could lose a lot of precious things. This is like the cell membrane. If the cell membrane were to let in a deadly virus it could ruin the cell forever. 

                     I think that the central vacuole is like the costume closets of the studio. They store vital things for the filming of the movie. It is like the filming of the movie is the plant’s life and the vacuole stores the necessities such as food, water, and nutrients. The costume closets store the costumes that are needed for the filming or life of the movie.

                     I think the nucleus is the leader of the cell. So it would only make sense for the nucleus to be the director of the movie. The nucleus controls what happens in the cell. Just as the Director controls what goes on in a movie. I think that it is a simple connection.

                     The ribosomes are like the producers. They provide the money to do the project. Without the money there is no movie. It is like the ribosomes. They provide the proteins for the cell without the proteins there is no cell. It is a mandatory need for the cell.

                     I think that the mitochondria are like the actors in a movie. They are the necessary energy for the movie. Without them there would be no movie. They are the movie in a way. It is like in a cell because a cell needs energy to do all of its natural processes.

                     I think that the chloroplast is like the set crew of a movie. This is because the chloroplast takes the energy from the sun and gets it all ready so that the cell can use it. That is like what the set crew does. They get the whole set ready for the actors to act in. They get it ready for them to use it. Just like the chloroplast absorbs the energy from the sun and passes it on so that other parts of the cell can use it.

                     I think that the Endoplasmic Reticulum is like the transportation system of the cell. I think that the Endoplasmic Reticulum is like the golf carts that actors use to get around the sets. They also use the golf carts to transport other things around the studio. The Endoplasmic Reticulum packages proteins and sends them around the cell where they are needed. It creates a network of membranes through which it transports things. This is like the golf carts. They have little roads where they can go and so it is like the network of membranes.  The golf carts also take them to where they are needed, meaning the sets where they need to perform.
