| basic counselling this is a two day course that introduces partcipants to the principles of basic counselling and positive communication. the course is ideal for human resource practitioners, lay counsellors, educators or anyone wanting to enhance their ability to communicate with empathy. trauma debriefing this course introduces partcipants to the basics of trauma debriefing. the course is run over five days if partcipants have no previous counselling experience, or three days if they have. character building in the classroom this course is designed to provide school based educators with skills to include content around values, critical thinking and self esteem in their teaching programmes. training is over two days. self esteem development this course provides teachers of junior primary grades with materials and skills to facilitate development of self esteem among children through the curriculum. this is a one day course. hiv/aids programmes these programmes range for basic hiv/aids information updates, to basic hiv/aids counselling skills. in addition a school based programm is also available that promotes hiv/aids awareness, appropriate sexual interaction and sustained hiv/aids awareness and interventions within the schools. training periods vary according to the course. working with groups this programme provides a one day overview of basic group interaction and dynamics and is an add on (or stand alone) for people who have completed the trauma debriefing or basic counselling courses. |
