Royal Orders and Decorations of the Principality of Monaco
         The highest honor which the Reigning Prince of Monaco can bestow is the Order of Saint Charles which was founded officially by decree on March 15, 1858 by HSH Prince Charles III to recognize great service to the Prince or Principality of Monaco. It was modified on December 23, 1966 and is awarded in five classes; Knight Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.

         The Order of the Crown of Monaco was created by decree on July 20, 1960 by HSH Prince Rainier III and is awarded to people for exceptional acts of merit or conduct. It was modified on December 23, 1966 and is awarded in five classes; Knight Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.

         The Order of Grimaldi was created by decree on November 18, 1954 by HSH Prince Rainier III and was modified first on July 19, 1960 and a second time on December 23, 1966. It is awarded to those who have contributed to the prestige of the principality with distinction. It is awarded in five classes; Knight Grand Cross, Grand Officer, Commander, Officer and Knight.

         The Order of Cultural Merit was created by decree on December 31, 1952 by HSH Prince Rainier III to reward those who have given distinguished service in the arts, letters or science by working or teaching in Monaco. It is awarded in three classes; Commander, Officer and Knight.
Commander
         The Medal of Honor was created by decree on February 5, 1894 by HSH Prince Albert I. It was modified on April 20, 1925 and again on November 13, 1952. It is awarded for exceptional devotion to duty in civil and military service. It is awarded in three classes; the Medal of Honor in gold, the Medal of Honor in silver and the Medal of Honor in bronze.
         The Monaco Red Cross Medal was created by decree on October 16, 1950 by HSH Prince Rainier III for exceptional service to the Red Cross on the national or international stage. It is awarded in three classes; gold, silver and bronze.
          The Citation for Exceptional Service is an additional honor that can be bestowed on those holding the Medal of Honor. It was established on April 7, 1951 and modified on December 23, 1966.
It is given in recognition of exceptional service or acts of bravery by the Prince's military forces. It is awarded in four classes; gold, gold-silver, silver and bronze. It is worn as a clip on the ribbon of the Medal of Honor.
          The Monaco Blood Donor Medal was created by decree on July 30, 1993 and is given by the Reigning Prince to recognize the devotion and merit of blood donors. It is awarded in three classes; silver-gold, silver and bronze.
