My Arizona SCV Flag Flap | ![]() |

| As my huge crowd of adoring fans are aware, until tonight my webpage on the Confederate Territory of Arizona featured the flag of the Arizona Division Sons of Confederate Veterans at the top. It no longer does on account of an email I got from the Arizona SCV ordering me to stop displaying their trademark. Of course they had every right to do so, and I also have the right to stop directing others to their website and have removed all the links from this site to those of the Sons of Confederate Veterans with the exception of the Texas boys who I know include some very driven and patriotic gentlemen (Rudy, Bill, that's you guys) and who were good enough in the past to help me decorate the campo santo on my Grandpa's place which most people forget about this far out (and that's thanks to you Mr. B). So even though I've never been very fond of any group that bases its membership on ancestry, I know there are some upstanding individuals and southern patriots in the SCV, at least in the Great, Free State of Texas. I have always liked the southwest (and Texas is the only state considered part of both the south and the southwest) and Arizona in particular since that is the state my Grandfather was born in. I have always enjoyed my visits there. As I said, the Arizona SCV had every right to order me not to display their flag, God knows others have nabbed plenty of stuff off of my webpages (some even making it on to Wikipedia almost word for word) but personally I never had a problem with that so long as I approved of what the person using the stuff was using it for and they were not trying to take credit for work that I had in the case of written texts. That is the only part that annoyed me, was that the Arizona SCV would get snippy about their flag being displayed on a pro-Confederate website that linked back to their own (and I've also never been one to demand a link back to my site in exchange for linking to another from mine). Then again, since I choose not to use my ancestors to join clubs maybe my southern sympathies don't count anyway. I'm for all supporters of the southern nation no matter who your great-great-great-grandaddy was and though they have some good folks in Texas as I said (like the DRT & SRT do too) I would not want to join any such group (though I could) because they just seem a little too exclusive and elitist for my taste (though some of that may be influenced by Texas' grand ol'DRT ladies). I would prefer a group that was open to all supporters of the Confederacy regardless of ancestry. Nonetheless, I'm going to try not to let a few rude apples ruin the bunch and instead try to come up with another Arizona-Confederate flag to use that no one will throw a hissy-fit over seeing on my webpage. I am open to ideas and suggestions. Here are a few that I've come up with: |

| This was my first design: basically the top is the Arizona flag and the bottom is a Trans-Mississippi style Confederate battle flag (my apologies for the mishapen star, I can never get those right). I really liked this one, but am still a little worried these two flags mushed together might be too much like the Arizona SCV's two flags mushed together and I might get sued for using it on my Confederate website. For that reason, I came up with the next one---> | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Design number two here is basically the same style as many other state flags defaced to show allegiance and support for the old Confederate States. Most people (since the flag flap in Georgia) have seen state flags like this such as in South Carolina, North Carolina and Texas as well as Georgia. My third design is in the same vein. I feel a little safer with these since if anyone decides to throw a fit over them I will at least have a whole lot of company amongst the good patriots of the south. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| This one is basically the same except that it has the Arizona military arms instead of the state flag. | ||||||||||||||||||||
| Tell me which design you like, yall know how to get a hold of me. | ||||||||||||||||||||
