689. Andrew Paul CRISELL
Dr Andrew Crisell whose book Understanding Radio (1986) was the first systematic study of the medium of radio and helped stimulate the growth of academic interest in this area.
In 1997, Dr Crisell published his Introductory History of British Broadcasting, which is the first study to bring together the history of all the major British broadcasters up to the present moment, and is particularly useful at a time when broadcasting in its traditional sense is giving way to a new era of interactive ?multimedia?.
