High Voltage wasted no time getting straight into the wrestling tonight as we had Tommy Dreamer taking on Chavo Guerrero Jr. After suffering defeat at the hands of Rob Van Dam at Super Cade in a Hardcore Rules Match, Dreamer has already signed Hardcore Holly's open contract for the Hardcore Invitational, but he needed to get a win here tonight for momentum. The smaller and faster Chavo Guerrero Jr. tried to hit and run, but he couldn't stay away from Dreamer long enough. Dreamer hit a Death Valley Driver followed by the Dreamer DDT to get the win in the opening contest of High Voltage.
Tommy Dreamer pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. with the Dreamer DDT in 0:06:59.

It has not been a good time for Elix Skipper in Global Championship Wrestling. As a member of Triple X, he hasn't seen a lot of success and has been on the outside of Christopher Daniels' recent dealings. So Skipper came into this match with Shannon Moore with a big chip on his shoulder. Moore is no pushover by any means, but he simply got his ass kicked by Skipper. Primetime was absolutely ruthless, which led to him losing this match by disqualification when he refused to release a chokehold.
Shannon Moore defeated Elix Skipper by disqualification in 0:05:12.

It took several officials to get Elix Skipper off of Shannon Moore. Even Daffney, who is a little out there herself, seemed a little put off by Skipper's new found meanstreak. Moore got the victory, but he sure didn't look like a winner.
Hardcore Holly issued the challenge for the Hardcore Invitational, but he had to wrestle an entirely different animal in "Ironman" Rob Conway. Conway has wrestled in primarily tag team matches, but he is very fundamentally sound and has the skills to compete as a singles competitor. Holly was trying to make a point that he was hardcore and tried to brawl with Conway, but if you try to do nothing but brawl with someone who has the technical skills of Conway, he'll make you pay for it. Conway outwrestled Hardcore in this one for most of the match, but Holly finally got Conway down with his great dropkick. Holly was frustrated as he rolled to the floor and grabbed a chair from ringside. He got in the ring and went to use it, but NICK DINSMORE, Conway's tag team partner, grabbed the chair from behind and took it from Holly. As Holly yelled at Dinsmore, Conway got up and hit Holly with a forearm to the back. Conway followed up and hit the Tornado DDT and got what has to be considered an upset victory!
Rob Conway pinned Hardcore Holly with the Tornado DDT in 0:07:59.

Hardcore Holly tried to cheat and it backfired on him in a big way, giving Conway a big singles victory. This can't be good for Holly's pride heading into Chaos Reigns.
Our main event for High Voltage was a big one with a Cruiserweight Title defense. Rey Mysterio Jr. defended the title against his friend and the man often compared to him, The Amazing Red. It's a shame these two didn't get more time than they did, because for the five minutes they did get to wrestle, they were all over the place. Both men, even though High Voltage is considered the B-show, went all out and it was much appreciated by the fans. In the end, Red went for the Red Star Press but came up with nothing but canvas. Mysterio landed the Drop of the Dime before finishing Red off with the West Coast Pop in a very competitive contest.
Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Red with the West Coast Pop in 0:05:09.

(Rey Mysterio Jr. retained the GCW Cruiserweight Title.)
We went off the air for High Voltage with a handshake between good friends Mysterio and Red. Rey Mysterio Jr., still the Cruiserweight champion.
