6/20/04: High Voltage - Providence, RI

Match #1
Nick Dinsmore (w/ Rob Conway) vs. Sean O'Haire

This week's edition of High Voltage started off Nick Dinsmore taking on the increasingly more agressive Sean O'Haire. Two weeks ago, O'Haire snapped and attacked Dinsmore and his partner Rob Conway with a chair. Last week, O'Haire defeated Conway in a singles match, and if it weren't for Dinsmore running O'Haire off, who knows how long the beating would have went on? Dinsmore looked to extract a bit of revenge on O'Haire, but what happened is that Dinsmore got out of his element. He's at his best when wrestling on the mat, but Dinsmore tried to fight Sean O'Haire, and that's just not advised. O'Haire wore Dinsmore down and took the match with the Prophecy.

Sean O'Haire pinned Nick Dinsmore with the Prophecy in 0:09:00.
Rating: *** 1/4

In the past three weeks, Sean O'Haire has plowed through one of the premier tag teams in Global Championship Wrestling. O'Haire is motivated, and that doesn't bode well for GCW.

Match #2
Shannon "All That And" Moore vs. Teddy Hart

Over the past several weeks, Teddy Hart has proven that he will do whatever it takes to get an advantage, most recently jumping The Hurricane from behind on Explosion, all but eliminating the Man In Green's chances at becoming the Cruiserweight champion. Hart's new attitude leaves a lot to be desired, but one can't forget that he is a third generation star from the famous Hart clan, and he can wrestle like it. Moore can wrestle a great high-flying match, but he hasn't put it all together yet. Teddy Hart puts Moore down with the Open Hart Surgery.

Teddy Hart pinned Shannon Moore with the Open Hart Surgery in 0:10:14.
Rating: *** 1/4

Match #3
MAIN EVENT
"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown vs. "The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam

"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown has been very impressive since making his GCW debut, but he had his toughest challenge to date as he took on "The Whole F'n Show" Rob Van Dam. This match was a bit sloppy at times, as both wrestlers have such contrasting styles that they couldn't figure the other out, and it led to a few train wrecks in the ring. Eventually things settled down and they wrestled a fairly decent match. Late in the contest, Brown had RVD set up for the Pounce, but as he charged in, RVD pulled referee Petey Pluck in the way, causing Brown to plow the referee! Brown tried to help the ref up, but RVD caught him with a low blow and a DDT. RVD went to the floor to grab a chair, but when he got in the ring, TOMMY DREAMER ran in and tackled RVD, nailing him with hard right hands before throwing him over the top to the floor. When Petey Pluck came to, he disqualified RVD and awarded the match to Monty Brown.

Monty Brown defeated Rob Van Dam by disqualification in 0:12:10.
Rating: ** 1/2

Monty Brown remains undefeated, and RVD continues his descent into being an all-around jerk. RVD and Tommy Dreamer are going to be in a war at Super Cade, that's for sure.
