6/13/04: High Voltage - Hartford, CT

Match #1
"The Alpha Male" Monty Brown vs. "The Big Shot" Hardcore Holly

The opening contest on High Voltage this week pitted newcomer Monty Brown against veteran Hardcore Holly. Holly used his experience advantage early on to get the better of Brown. Holly got in many of his big moves, including his awesome dropkick, but the raw power of Monty Brown was too much for Holly tonight, as he took the win with the Pounce.

Monty Brown pinned Hardcore Holly with the Pounce in 0:09:23.
Rating: ** 1/4

Match #2
"Ironman" Rob Conway vs. Sean O'Haire

Last week on Explosion, Sean O'Haire absolutely snapped during a tag team match, attacking Rob Conway, Nick Dinsmore and even his own tag team partner Perry Saturn with a chair. This week, Rob Conway was out for a little revenge as he took on O'Haire in singles action. By watching this match, you wouldn't think this was the same Sean O'Haire who has been wrestling in GCW since day one. O'Haire had a noticeable meanstreak to him, as he pounded on Conway from pillar to post. Conway held his own, but O'Haire was a train that wasn't going to be derailed tonight. O'Haire picks up a big win by hitting Conway with the Prophecy.

Sean O'Haire pinned Rob Conway with the Prophecy in 0:09:04.
Rating: *** 3/4

O'Haire wasn't done yet, as he picked Conway up and dropped him with a second Prophecy. He went for a third one, but Conway's partner Nick Dinsmore came in and ran O'Haire off. There's no doubting that Sean O'Haire is a super talented guy, and now that he appears to be getting motivated, this could mean bad news for Global Championship Wrestling.

Match #3
MAIN EVENT
Cruiserweight Title Match
Rey Mysterio Jr. (c) vs. Chavo Guerrero Jr.

A big main event here as Rey Mysterio Jr. defended his Cruiserweight Title against an old-time rival, Chavo Guerrero Jr. Chavo simply hasn't been the same wrestler since the brutal beating he suffered at the hands of Chris Jericho and Justin Credible a few weeks back, and it's really shown in his matches. Chavo tried all he could, but Mysterio is on fire these days, and nothing was going to stop the 6-1-9 and West Coast Pop. A successful title defense for Mysterio to close out the show.

Rey Mysterio Jr. pinned Chavo Guerrero Jr. with the West Coast Pop in 0:08:44.
Rating: ** 1/2
(Rey Mysterio Jr. retained the GCW Cruiserweight Title.)
