August 28, 2008 - IUP Men's club volleyball will be holding open practice from 8-10 pm in the main gymnasium in the Memorial Field house on Tuesday, September 2nd and Thursday, September 4th. All interested players should come. No prior experience is required. Open tryouts will be the following week on Tuesday, September 9th and Thursday, September 11th. Final cuts for the team will occur after the final day of tryouts. Contact [email protected] for more information about the team.
March 29, 2008 - IUP started slugglishly in the qualfying round and tied in a three way split after the round. After round robin play between the Hawks, Robert Morris, and Duquesne, IUP was seeded second in their group based on points (-1). This placed them in the silver bracket where they met familiar league foes Slippery Rock and Grove City. First, the Wolverines defeated Slippery Rock 2-0 and then stayed on to play IUP. The league rivals split games but IUP scoring four more points than Grove City. IUP then took on Slippery Rock and defeated them in two straight games 25-21, 25-18. IUP earned the #1 rank in the silver bracket and a match against Case Western. The Hawks came out sluggish and battled back to lose game one 23-25. IUP then won game two handily by the score of 25-19. Finally, in the third game IUP started the game out with a 0-4 start. After a time out IUP battled back just coming up short in the final game 15-17.
March 28, 2008 - IUP was informed that Slippery Rock defeated Grove City in conference play. By virtue of tie breaks, the Crimson Hawks will enter the district tournament as their division's #1 seed with a 6-2 overall record. This is IUP Men's Club Volleyball's second consecutive league championship. Congrats Hawks!
March 22, 2008 - After almost a month's layoff the Hawks were back in action on Easter's eve. After UPJ could not make the match and suffered a forefit SRU and IUP agreed to a five game match. After losing the first game by only two points, the Hawks battled back to sweep the Rock in the next three games to win in four.
February 24, 2008 - Hawks split matches with victory over Clarion and loss to Slippery Rock, both in straight sets.
February 1, 2008 - Iup sweeps competition in straight sets to improve to 3-1 on the season.
January 26, 2008 - IUP splits first tri-match of the year, losing to Grove City in three and Sweeping Pitt Johnstown in two.

November 17, 2007 - Crimson Hawks stumble in semifinals at the Grove City Tournament, falling to Penn State Behrend.
October 20, 2007 - Crimson Hawks fall short of repeat tournament victories, losing to Shippensburg in the finals at Pitt Johnstown.
September 29, 2007 - IUP dominates in first outing of the year, bringing home the trophy at the Clarion Tournament.
