| Vidalia Onion Pie Ruth Hantla RW Crust: 1 1/4 Cup crushed soda crackers 4 Tlbs. Butter or oleo, melted Mix - put in bottom of "large" pie pan Glaze 2 cups sliced sweet onions in 2 Tbls. Oleo (Do Not Brown). Put over crust. Mix 2 eggs, 3/4 cup milk, pepper & salt. Pour over crust and onions. Cover with shredded jack cheese. Bake at 350o for 30 minutes. |
| Apple Dumpling Bake by Gert Stevens rw 2 tubes (8 oz each) refrigerated crescent rolls 2 medium Granny Smith apples, peeled and cored 1 cup sugar 1/3 cup butter or margarine melted 3/4 cup Mountain Dew soda Ground cinnamon Vanilla ice cream Unroll crescent rolls and separate dough into 16 triangles. Cut each apple into 8 wedges. Wrap a crescent dough triangle around each apple wedge. Place in a greased 13" x 9" x 2" baking dish. In a bowl, combine sugar and butter; sprinkle over rolls. Slowly pour the soda around the rolls (do not stir). Sprinkle with cinnamon. Bake, uncovered, at 350 degrees for 35-40 mins. or until golden brown. Serve warm with ice cream. Yield: 16 dumplings NOTE: Sometimes we cut this receipe in half and serve with Cool Whip. |
| Strawberry-Rhubarb Crumb Pie By: Gert Stevens RW 1 egg 1 cup sugar 2 Tablespoons flour 1 teaspoon vanilla 3 cups fresh rhubarb cut in � inch pieces 2 cups fresh strawberries, halved 1 9- inch unbaked pie shell Topping: � cup flour � cup packed brown sugar � cup quick oatmeal � cup butter or margarine Beat eggs, and then beat in sugar, flour and vanilla. Mix well. Gently fold in rhubarb and strawberries. Pour into pie shell. To make topping, combine flour, sugar and oatmeal. Cut in butter until the mixture is crumbly. Sprinkle over fruit. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes. Reduce heat to 350 degrees and bake 35 -45 minutes. |
