SEPTEMBER 10th, 2005
As I stood in the Anderson Dance Pavilion at 7 AM and watched the beautiful red glowing sun rise in the eastern sky I knew it was going to be a very 'warm' day.  However, there was a gentle breeze blowing and I knew that would help to lower the temperatures and we were in for a GLORYOUS day!! The Pavillion was like an artists blank canvas... dull and drab..then the colors of the sun rising and the volunteers starting to arrive and the busyness of setting up tables, filling them with food, such as Red apples, Orange oranges, Yellow banana's, yogurt and Perkins wonderful muffins. All of a sudden the canvas began to have a life of its own, a splash of color here and there. Slowly the ladies from the Crimson Glorys came with their RED HATS and PURPLE ATTIRE which sprinkled color all over and they brought life to it all!! The clowns in their colorful outfits were having fun making balloon hats and mingling with the walkers. Soon the canvas was full of color--there were people everywhere and oh what a masterpiece was being created!!!!

The wind picked up and the walkers enjoyed the breeze mixed with the 'hot' temperatures. They were greeted at the rest stops with cold refreshments and snacks. Upon return to the Pavilion, they were awarded a medal and a lunch consisting of hot dogs, chips and baked beans.  They were also offered massages and a Taekwondo demonstration was going on for their enjoyment!

It was a fun and exciting day, and all for a great cause. We had approximately 125 people  and raised well over $18.000. Thank you one and all for your continued support!!!
