Off to Famous Dave's

On August 7th, Tom drove me to Famous Dave�s for another one of our �fun� Red Hat luncheons!! We pulled up to Famous Dave�s and there were two ramps (for us handicapped folks) and I told Tom which one was for Dave�s!! So up I go, as I entered--there were several waitresses waiting to welcome me with �smiles� on their faces!! At that point Tom was at ease in leaving me with these wonderful people! I explained I was with the Red Hat�s (which was pretty obvious!) and would like to use the elevator to get upstairs. So�.I was paraded through the whole restaurant (which we love�right??) to get to the elevator. Once there I realized, if I had went up the first ramp outside I would have been right there. However, there wouldn�t have been any parading and what fun would that have been?
I was so excited to see Queen Renee and her sister Queen Karen (my very bestest old friend), they were dressed in their best hill country outfits! Yes, we were celebrating the hill county! Remember Sadie Hawkins, Beverly Hillbillies, Ma and Pa Kettle and Lil Abner??? We did some hog calling, chicken calling etc...it was so fun to see how many of us were from the farm! Lots of memories were shared. The lunch was great!! Bar b que ribs, baked beans, corn muffins and more. Oh yes and of course there was dessert (the best part!!) We only had one birthday gal and she read us a poem she had written. See the picture below to realize how cute she is!!!!!
We even had a lady come upstairs wanting to see us! She had been or was going to Sturgis, SD for the bike rally. She said she wanted to join a Red Hat group when she turned 50 (soon), she was from the east coast and after hearing and seeing US she was positive she was going to be a Red Hatter!! We all enjoy being a Red Hatter and are so grateful that we can share this with others who are debating about joining!!! Of course once they are around us... and see and hear all the love and laughter, there is nothing that will stop these Bold, Beautiful Women from becoming a Red Hatter!!!!!
We look forward to seeing all of you at our next luncheon on September 11th at the Sioux City Country Club where we will be celebrating our birthday!! Imagine, this all started with 6 ladies in 2001!!! Where did the time go???? Not sure but I know we have certainly enjoyed the ride!!!
