GI Joe: The Movie

This movie starts with the incredible opening theme where Cobra attacks the statue of Liberty. If you don't own the movie, you can always download the opening animation from David Thornton's website. A giant Cobra trooptransport vessel holds still in front of the moon at night, and dozens of Cobra Airborne soldiers leap out, supported by a CLAW's and Firebats. A brilliant sequence is where a Crimson Guard lands and punches out a camera. Yee-hah. However, GI Joe seems to know of the attack and is out in full force, almost the whole team took up positions around the Liberty statue and fights off Cobra's assault in the usual Cobra-hits-nothing-we-punch-them-all-out style. The most exaduated scene is where Alpine hooks himself up with a Firebat, crawls on the plane and smashes the glass of the cockpit, causing the Firebat to crash on a Moray Hyrofoil.

The attack is beaten off and immediatly another marvellous animation sequence follows; A troop of Cobra vehicles heading through swamps towards the Terror Dome. A group of Pods flies over them and makes up for some nice light effects. Inside the Terror Dome, Serpentor isn't in a too happy mood. He blaims the Cobra top of all the failed campaigns and Cobra Commander in particular. Sadly, Destro, the Baroness and even Tomax and Xamot side with Serpentor against Cobra Commander.

Meanwhile, out of the Cobra swamp, an icky mass of slime unloads a cloaked stranger. She gains access to the Terror Dome on a pretty unbelievable way, knocking out a Cobra soldier on guard duty as she does so. The alert crew of Tele-Vipers, however, sound the alarm and Crimson Guards grab their rifles while the whole base is in turmoil. She manages to sneak past the majority of alerted troopers, but four Siegies perform a head on assault. The first one manages to fire off a shot but is mummified alive, the second Siegie manages to knock the stranger down to the ground and puts his rifle to her throat (*waves a huge GO SIEGIE banner*). But the intruder uses her hands to heat up his cool helmet (damn her for that :) so he backs off, putting his hands to his face. She punches him out after that. The thrid one gets some facehugger on his visage and is knocked out. The fourth Siegie gets knocked out on a very violent way. He is picked up, tries to punch her but can't, and is thrown against the wall with his head, causing the wall to show cracks. I hope Hasbro realise that this isn't so pretty.

As a Crimson Guard in the Terror Dome control room commands to seal all sectors because the intruder is entering Serpentor's war room, the stranger manages to slip through all closing doors in the nick of time. She faces Serpentor and two Siegies, but manages to throw some organic gas-grenades in the control docks, taking out even more Cobra soldiers. Serpentor fires off a volley of iron arrows, but she sneaks past them. The final Crimson Guards are taken down by throwing yet another two facehuggers at them. Serpentor then switches to his last resort and lowers his throne to some bunker, and the intruder follows him there.

"None may challenge Serpentor, this I command!" and he grabs one of his snakes and stretches it so that it forms a staff, pointing at the intruder. "That won't be necessairy" utters the intruder as she takes of her cape. Serpentor reacts shocked and says that he knows her. She reveals herself to be Pyhtona, a Cobra-La, and informs Serpentor that his goal is the B.E.T (Broadcast Energy Transmitter) which is currently in GI Joe possesion.

The screen switches then to the artic, where the GI Joe team is testing the BET and being in a good mood. Duke starts up the BET and it causes one of their vehicles to start up and drive off. A GI Joe member runs after it, but comes suddenly running back with the the fearful cry "it's ..." .. "COOO ... BRAAAA!!!" as Tomax and Xamot complete. Serpentor commands a most impressive force of Cobra vehicles accompagnied by most of the Cobra top. "Destroy everything exept the BET!" are his orders, and GI Joe is surprised by the sudden attack, causing most of the vehicles to go lost. Duke commands to fall back for counterattack, while the other Joes put up a pretty good fight. Duke changes his mind and orders Dialtone and Mainframe to give him cover, while he starts up the BET. It works, and the Joe's weapons are activated, sending several missiles right into Cobra lines. In the panic that follows, Serpentor charges Duke and Cobra Commander tries to rally the Motor Vipers. Duke throws Serpentor against the radar dish of the BET, taking care of him. The Baroness suggests that they should go help 'The Emperor' but Cobra Commanders gives the sign to retreat, leaving Serpentor in Joe hands.

Duke orders one part of the team to go hunt down the rest of Cobra. The remains of the Cobra Task Force are miserable. But 3 remaining vehicles, and several Vipers who have to walk along along them, freezing to death as Dr. Mindbender remarqued. The Dreadnoks are still there as well. But Cobra Commander knows exactly where they are heading and reassures them.

The GI Joe 'hunt-down' Task Force, including Roadblock, Snow Job and Quick Kick catch up with them and fire off several rockets into the band of retreating soldiers. Strangly, there seems to be only one Snow Serpent with the whole outfit. You'd expect that they would make up for the mainstay of the Cobra Polar attack force. But the remaining Cobra troopers have already reached their destination. Cobra Commander urges them to head for the groves where they will find sanctuary. They arrive in some chasm which is full of giant plants, as part of Cobra-La's plan. After a short firefight, Roadblock and Snow Job are brutally halted by an unknown person. Quick Kick and Snake Eyes are attacked by Cobra-La royal guards, who are more then able to handle the Joes. All are subdued and consequently captured. Cobra Commander salutes Nemesis Enforcer, he who halted Roadbloack and ripped Snow Job's vehicle to pieces, with a cheerful "Bravo, Bravo!" but gets hit to the ground by him. Cobra Commander tells Nemesis Enforcer that Golobulus will have his head for this, but Pyhtona steps out of the shadow and tells him that it is his head he should be worried about. He panicks and tries to flee but Nemesis Enforcer is faster. The Dreadnoks are easily gained over to Cobra-La's side by showing them an enourmous Gem. The Joes who were hunting down Cobra are captured, and the Cobra top with several Motor-Vipers are escorted inside Cobra-La's Ice dome and informed of Pyhtona's plan to free Serpentor.

Back at GI Joe HQ, Duke is worried because they haven't heard from Roadblock's unit in 24 hours. Hawk tells him not worry, but agrees to have Lifeline and some others to go on a rescue mission. Duke also informs Hawk that Beachhead has started training the 6 new GI Joe recruits. Meanwhile, at Serpy's cellhouse, Flint is trying to make a pass on some girl but Duke walks in on them, and tells them a military prison is no place for a date. Jinx escorts her out of the base, and the girl drives off.
