I was born 4 weeks premature and put on oxygen straight after birth.
I was was adopted at 5 months and diagnosed with a mild case of Cerebral Palsy (Spastic) at the age of 13 months (a little over a year old).
I had difficulty walking and sitting up.
(I crawled most of the time and etheir laid on my back or needed help when sitting up).
I started PT (Physical Therapy) at 14 months.
I had much difficulty and doctors said it was doubtful I'd ever walk.
But then a report by my Physical Therapist said I was WALKING!
My parents were thrilled.
I had to wear leg braces (small and large) for muscule and joint support until the 4th grade.
I had other gadgets (walker, crutches, casts, ect.) in my younger years.
Surgeries (Leg)
I know I've come a long way.
My parents marvel at what I've gone through. I still get loads of support from my family. I consider walking a gift.
It should NOT be taken for granted.
