| Earth Versus Ayenee | |||||||||||
| The simple way to put this: Ayenee is not Earth. It is another realm of existance entirely. It has a geography independent of Earth's. Specific countries, continents, states, cities and so on, that exist on Earth, do not exist in Ayenee. Therefore, your characters cannot originate in these places. Considering, however, that there are miniscule details that would be hard to work out simply to roleplay (as in, a sandwich) and that much of what Ayenee is has roots in Europe, it isn't completely out of the question that some areas of the world imitate real world locations in values, language, mythology and so on. It would not all go by the same name, though, because how would it then be a fantasy world called Ayenee? | |||||||||||
| But I Want To Play On Earth | |||||||||||
| Alright. Go into a room that's marked as an Earth location, or as "realistic," or mark your room "Earth" or something like that. If you make a room not marked such, it's going to be assumed to be in Ayenee, possibly pre-modern/fantasy Ayenee. | |||||||||||
| Can I Play My Character From [insert realm/world here] In the World of Ayenee? | |||||||||||
| Sure. I do. Just have a story of some sort for it. If your character is from Australia, for example, he cannot go home by normal means. He'd have to realm hop. Since the eras of Ayenee that are fantasy are magical, this can happen fairly easily. My character, Nick, died, and came to Ayenee as an afterlife. He since has found a mage who gave him many "necklaces," which allow him to move through space, time and planes of existance. As a dead man, he cannot go home without further intervention, though. As of this date (September 22, 2004), Nick can't go home without feeling ill, because he's a dead man. Since so many horrible things have happened to him, though, and he's in contact with gods, this may change, just to give the poor guy a break. At the moment, he has friends he's given necklaces that come from the 'real,' modern world, to visit him and give him things (such as modern clothes and instruments). | |||||||||||
| What If My Character Is From A Book/Movie/Show/Comic/et cetera? | |||||||||||
| Two things you can do. 1. Play in/make a room designated for that work. 2. Follow the above suggestion about realm travelling. | |||||||||||
