1)Umpiring can be atrocious some times (AND DONT SAY IT REFLECTS REAL UMPIRING BECAUSE BELIEVE ME NOT EVEN STEVE DUNN WOULD GIVE YOU OUT WHEN YOU GO TO LEAVE THE BALL AND YOUR BAT AND GLOVES ARE NOWHERE NEAR THE BALL AND THE UMPIRE GIVES YOU OUT OFF YOUR HIPS OR CHEST!!!!!!!!!) + IT HAPPENS EVERY TIME IT HITS YOUR BODY AND YOU ARE CAUGHT OUT IT IS OUT WITHOPUT EVEN AN APPEAL WHERE THE BATSMAN WALKS!!!)
2)Autoplay crashes in ODI's.
3)Plenty of commentary bugs.
4)Batting is too easy even on the hard level.
5)Bowlers like Darren Gough cant swing the ball like in real life - only "swing bowlers"can e.g. Mark Butcher.
6)Player Editor can only change names.
7)Yorkers are too easy to bowl but hard to score off.
8)Yorkers should be harder to bowl since when alot of pace bowlers attempt them they often over pitch them and bowl a full toss which is an easy delivery to hit.
9)In the ps2 version you can bowl a yorker/full toss every ball and then all you can do is sweep it. (Not exactly fun) when your playing someone and they do that every ball.
10)It's near impossible to sweep a pace bowlers yorker. 11)The players run like a goose .
Top

1)The wicket-keeper should catch the ball which falls down near the stumps and not just run towards the stumps for collection of the throw.
2)The wicket-keeper must sometimes take off his gloves when he wants to throw the ball.
3)They should sometimes wear helmets especially for bowlers like Kumble,Shane Warne etc.
4)We must be able to bring the keeper up to the stumps for medium pacers whenever we want to.
5)We must also be able to decide how far behind the keeper stands for every bowler depending upon the bounce in the wicket etc.
6)During play we must hear the keeper encouraging his team or appreciating the bowler etc.
7)Different keepers must perform differently based upon their stats.
Top

1)We must be able to hit the reverse sweep.
2)Different batting styles: eg-Lara lifts his front leg while hitting a 'pull' while Sachin does not.
3)Difference between Batsmen and tail-enders should be reflected in the game.
4)Certain batsmen must be better at playing certain shots than the other batsmen.Or each batsman must have a 'special shot' or 'favorite shot' which he is good at and plays quite frequently in the game.
5)Batsman must get injured when hit hard on the gloves or helmet etc.
6)Keep the back foot and front foot control system that was a brilliant idea.
7)'Batsman type' attribute for each player. eg-Sachin Tendulkar-Aggressive,Rahul Dravid-Defensive,Srinath-Tail-ender.
8)Ability to change the batting order during the match.
9)Batsman at the non strikers end can back up when the bowler runs into bowl
10)At the moment, it's impossible to drop the ball at a players feet and take off for a sharp single because you'll be run out.
11)Running speed for batsman.
12)Real Bats: Puma, Kookaburra, Bubble, Kookaburra, Ridgeback, Gray Nicholls, Slazenger etc.
13)Charging should be risky but effictive way for a batsman who's got his eye in facing a yorker. (Where its pretty hard to charge and hit a yorker sucsessfully in the ps2 version).
14)However, it would be nice to be able to execute shots like the reverse sweep, and be able to pad the spinners away better.
15)Have runners if players are injured.
16)More value from your ground stokes. With good timing and placement you should be able to score more boundaries from ground strokes.
17)To make batting harder on the hardest level the batsman should get to see the bowling circle but before the ball is bowled the circle should disappear WITHOUT showing the batsman the exact location of the ball within that circle. The developers need to encourage batsmen to make shot decisions based on the ball coming off the wicket rather than plan their shots in advance as the bowler is running in. By seeing the circle at the beginning of the run up the batsman will have some rough idea of where its pitching without knowing exactly where it is pitching once it disappears. This would then result in more balls beating the bat and caught behinds to 'loose' shots.
18)Most opening batsmen need to set in before they can start attacking...But say a player like gilchrist will need a much lower rate of setting in...Meaning Ganguly for instance is also aggressive bt before he can be his aggressive self hes a bit dodgy and needs some time setting in but Gilchrist can start smashing straight away...Same you can alot pinch hitters to train and so when they come in at number 5-6, they can start smashing straight away..They dont need to come in.
19)Make sure to implement a way so that you can decide when to go for a six, MEANING HAVE SIX BUTTON and also A FOUR BUTTON(ground) the six button will be successful only after you have set in...BUT Say for easy set in batsmen or like who start smashing straight away again like Gilchrist make it easy for them to hit sixes and dont randomize it, dievice a way in which its possible to hit sixes intentinally and not randomly but dont make it so easy as in Brian Lara cricket where you can keep hitting them so often that the value of the batting department in the game just drops....SO FOCUS ON THE BATSMEN SETTING IN FACTOR..
20)Have more play & misses, meaning if a Shane Warne bowls from around the wicket to a right hand batsmen spinning it from the leg stump to outside the offstum and the batsmen attempts a late cut or an offdrive, HE SHOULD miss if he has just come in,meaning even if its a GIlchrist, this ball being a GOOD ball SHOULD decieve the batsmen...So BATSMEN shouldnt try this shot at the beginning of their innings. The batsmen should leave the ball alone.

1)Bowling yorkers shouldn't be too easy.
2)Different bowling styles: eg-Difference between bowling styles of Mc Grath and Wasim Akram.
3)We must also be able to decide whether to bowl from close to the stumps or away from the stumps because this can affect LBW decisions.
4)Certain bowlers must have certain special types of balls.
5)Eliminate 'sweet spots' on the pitch:There are certain balls to which the CPU gets out every time. This should not happen.
6)Wickets that aren't random, you have to actually work on the batsman with a strategy (ie bowling 20 leg breaks and then bowling a flipper might actually work).
7)The option to make the bowling circle disappear when batting (maybe only on the hard level).
8)Fast bowlers swing the ball naturally in the opening overs. And then in the late/ about 35-80 the can reverse it like Brett Lee, Waqar, Wasim, Shoaib etc.
9)New Bowling System?: Each bowler has two more statistics added to bowling figures - (1)length accuracy , and (2)line accuracy. Based on these figures, a box should be generated while bowling and the spot where the ball pitches should be generated randomly within the box. A bowler with poor length accuracy but good line accuracy (Srinath) will have a thin rectangle going along the pitch giving a low chance of getting the length right. Vice versa, a bowler with poor line accuracy but good length accuracy(CantThinkOfOne) will have a thin rectangle going ACROSS the pitch. Get it? A bowler with poor line as well as length accuracy is not a bowler.
10)A bit more control over the amount of swing and cut that is imparted on the ball would be nice.
11)Also we would like to see DRIFT with leg spin bowlers and off spinners, it would be awesome really, especially in green/damp pitches where the ball hardly spins.
12)Spin bowlers need to be improved with more turn on a decent spinning pitch. At present it turns little and spinners are too easy to score heavily off - regardless of conditions. The bowl should also seam and swing more in decent conditions - then perhaps the ball would beat the bat/get nicks more often. "Two paced pitches' should do just that.
13)Also, speed of the wind, to affect the bowling, more swing, or the ball holding up into the breeze from the slow bowlers. Bowl faster with the breeze, batter can hit the ball further with the breeze, and so on.....

1)The AI should make fielding changes according the situation.Similarly he should make bowling changes and changes in the batting order in a match.
2)It must not play the same shot every time, for the same kind of delivery.
3)It must play aggressive while chasing a big total or play rather defensively when chasing a small total.
4)The AI should bowl a consistent line and length, not many bouncers and yorkers.
5)One key factor will be CPU fallability. You dont want a sure fire delivery that is easy to bowl and gets a wicket every 10 balls or whatever. This ruins games.

1)There must be different crowd textures for matches in different countries. eg-The fans in England are mostly seated while the crowd in India are always on their feet.
2)Similarly crowd sound must be different for different countries.
eg-Carribean music in the West-Indies etc.
3)There must be flags and banners among the crowd.
4)There must be the 'home-away' difference. eg-At a match between India and Sri Lanka in India the crowd must go wild when a Sri Lankan wicket falls but must keep quiet when a 6 is hit by a Sri Lankan batsman.
5)Crowd cheering the batsman to hit a six or the bowler to take a wicket. 6)Different crowd chants for different countries.
7)How about the crowd leaving the stadium when the team is performing badly.
8)Crowd throwing bottles/cans on the field.
9)More crowd and player reaction when you win a match. It is distinctly low-key, which is a little disappointing, considering how good the rest of the sound is.
10)We should be able to see some camera flashes in the crowd.

1)Player faces must be improved so that they look like their real-life counterparts like the NBA or the MADDEN series.
2)Player Models should be improved.
3)Players with different heights and weights. This feature should also have an effect on the player's performance in the game.
4)Fielders should wear caps/hats/goggles etc.Similary fielders close to the batsman should wear helmets.
5)Batsmen should wear helmets while facing fast bowlers and helmets while facing spinners but this must not change every over!
6)Special models: Harbhajan's turban should also be included etc.
7)Different team kits should be available in the team editor.
8)Players should sometimes wear different kits while training.
Top

1)Ability to change player details-name,height,weight,skin colour,stats.
2)Advanced editor for bowlers/batsman for editing playing styles,right/left hand etc.
3)Ability to create new players along with the above stated details.
4)Ability to create new teams with details like-Overall team stats, team badge playing style etc.
5)There should also be an option that lets you change what type of bat the batsmen use, just in case they change sponsors.
6)On a player creation mode, you should be able to choose what type of brand bat you personally use.
7)The world series/ triangular tournament thing not always having to include the Aussies.
8)Ability to import faces like in NHL.
Top

1)NEED COUNTY CRICKET AND COMPETITIONS IN THE NEXT RELEASE.
2)Locals cricket tournaments with local teams from at least 6 of the major cricketing nations.
3)World Cup mode for 2003 of course!
4)Cricket tour:With one/two countries visiting other country and playing test and ODIs.
5)Super 6s or super 8s competition.
6)And maybe with the domestic teams there could be a simple club championship where the best teams from the leagues around the world would play in a little tournament.
7)Training Mode: Quite frankly, the practice session is a waste of time and energy. Each damned ball bowled is random, not giving you much of a chance to improve (or just get bat on to) a particular shot. A provision should be made to allow the user to choose the line and length, say, for one over at least. This way, if you swing and miss - no problem. You'll get it on the next try (at least you hope).
8)The net practice is a complete waste of time. What would have been useful is if a coach was present who would comment on your shots saying things like 'good shot' or 'good timing but you didn't get behind the line'.Same for bowling 'Good length but a little bit too wide of off stump'
9)And a few 'just for fun' modes would rule such as a six hitting competition and a speedball competition.
Top

1)Commentators should take player names frequently.
2)Commentators should follow the on-going series by talking about previous games etc.
3)Commentators should talk about the player's career-average and other stats.
4)The commentators should be more enthusiastic. eg-Shout when an important wicket falls or a six is hit or catch dropped.
5)Make commentators talk in front of the screen by creating their animated models.
Top

1)Include all the venues of the 2003 World Cup and also keep the present stadiums.
2)Stadium sizes should be different.
3)Each stadium is known for its basic type of pitch which does not change. This must be reflected in the game.
4)Different field textures for different stadiums.
5)There should be at least four grounds from all the test playing nations(except Sri Lanka,Bangladesh and Zimbabwe) and the following additional grounds:Nairobi,Morocco,Toronto,Colombo,Kandy,Dhaka,Harare and Bulawayo and Sharjah.
Top

1)Bad light stopping play.
2)Rain interupted One dayers (Duckworth/Lewis?).
3)Pitch should wear out after a 3-4 days of a test match.
4)Marks on the pitch made by fast bowlers which help the spinners.
5)Asking your groundsmen to prepare a certain type of pitch which means ability to select the type of pitches at home.
Top

1)The ability to save replays.
2)In one-dayers, comparisons at the start of every over, the option to view worm graphs (maybe you already can?) and the table that normally comes up at the start of every over showing the runs left and the overs left and the run rate required with the current run rate (channel 9 coverage there).
3)Career Stats for players.
4)Why not have a series creation centre. This will alllow you to design any series. Basiically WE WANT TO DESIGN TOURNAMENTS, PLAYERS, TEAMS!!
5)ONE BIGGY would be towards the end of the day the batsmen get offered the light when it gets dark. That is bloody realistic.
6)A 'confidence' meter for the batsman (like NHL2002). If the batsman is playing well then the meter would be up and playing good shots would be easier, and if you're batting like crap and keep blocking balls then your confidence would go down and you'd need to hit a few singles and stuff to get your confidence back up. This would also be affected by external factors like how your team is going and stuff.
7)A database like ICC should be included .
8)2 players playing against the cpu - each person plays as a different batsman/bowler and you can both play against the cpu .Each player should be allowed to control their batsman at all times. You would both have to control your own running between the wickets, if one wasn't paying attention it could lead to both batsman being stranded at one end and an easy run out for the fielding team. There was nothing more annoying when playing SWC/BLC than to have your friend run you out and you not being able to do anything about it.
9)Misfields should be introduced. 10)When saving a game in progress, the list of saved games should give you details of the game itself. At the moment it just says 'Cricket2002-01' or whatever which is a pain when you have a lot of saved games going on.
11)It should be possible to do away with the helmets and third umpire in a game which is supposed to take place in 1948, 1960 etc.
12)Regular team updates that can be downloaded from the Net.
13)Couldn't the end of a test ,one day match etc be a little more of an event? After finally regaining the ashes I think I deserve a little bit more recognition than a bland 'end of match'.
14)Player tracking should only be available to the human players and NOT the computer players.
15)There needs to be the option of turning off all the little animations, like the batmen reseting himself etc.
16)When a boundary has been hit, the umpire takes far to long to signal. The camera should go on him as he starts signalling, and then go off him - sometimes not showing him at all.
17)Also, the 3rd umpire; everything happens far too fast. Here's what should happen. Close run out, appeal to umpire. Umpire signals for the 3rd umpire. Then, as the batsman approaches the crease on the replay, it should be going very slowly, pausing etc depending on how close it is. Then the decision should be made.
18)Records should be generated/update throughout the game.
19)To be able to pick the computer team lineups for tests and one dayers. Because its annoying having old players that dont play anymore in the teams and yeah I do delete old players but Its not the same when you have players like Sehwag and Styris and all the other players from the countries not making the lineup. Its always the same lineups, also need to have a couple more players in each squad cause with todays high injury rate and loss of form teams go through so many players ie NZ and England.
20)Different umpires instead of the current "fat controller". We get different teams and players where are the different umpires?, and lets get em a decent white wide brimmed hat not an old fashioned train driver beret.
21)Fielders always throwing perfectly to the wicketkeeper. Should be random (in relation to the fielders fielding ability) so that a batsman can 'take on' the throw. Would make run outs more exiting too. Also the wicketkeeper not fielding the ball when he is closest to it.
22)Talking about test matches the length of the sessions should be totally changable ie. a choice of 10,15,20, or 30 overs a session so that impatient players like me can get through a test match quicker whilst playing their shots throughout. Of course the computer AI would also adjust its play in relation to the number of overs availiable during each session/day. At present bowling in tests can be a pretty boring experience.
23)Have man of the match award, and show the higlights of his innings, may it be bowling or batting... Like todays man of the match issssssssss SACHIN TENDULKAR with a score of 132 off just 98 balls Then show some of the classy fours like a straight drive, then show a six and then when he reaches hundred have him point his bat up to the crowd as the real Sachin does... That would be a class act.For a bowler do the same thing but show all the wickets...
24)Stats like these should be in the game which will affect every player's performance-
Batting Characteristics
+BATTING HAND (left/right)
+BATTING STYLE (defensive/moderate/aggressive)
+BEST BATTING POSITION (opener/top order/middle order/low order/tailender)
Batting Attributes (1-10)

+OVERALL BATTING
+FOCUS (do they settle in quickly or not?)

+OLD BALL (performance with old ball)
+PACE }
+SWING } FOR FAST, FAST-MED & MEDIUM
+SEAM }
+BOUNCE }

+SPIN }
+BOUNCE } FOR SPINNERS
+LOOP }

+STAMINA (how long can they bowl for?)
+CLUTCH (how do they handle pressure?)
Fielding Characteristics & Attributes

+THROWING HAND (left/right)
+PREFFERRED POSITION/S (outfield/catching/infield)
+CATCHING (1-10)
+GROUND FIELDING (1-10)
+THROW DISTANCE (1-10)
+THROW ACCURACY (1-10)
+SPEED (1-10)
+AGILITY (1-10)
25)Players should also go through peaks and troughs in form - some days, they will be in supreme form and have a better chance of scoring big runs or taking lots of wickets. Other days, they will be in a bit of a slump and not play at their best.
26)Certain deliveries hit to the boudary should be pickup & thrown to the chasing fielder by any of the spectators around the boundary rope.
27)Motion captures-
-Bowling styles : a couple of different bowling styles for each type of bowler eg. Leg-spinners: Shane Warne, Anil Kumble
Off-spinners: Saqlain Mustaq, Harbajhan Singh, Muttiah Muralitharan
Med-pace bowlers: Anyone
Pace bowlers: Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar, Glenn McGrath, Jason Gillespie
-Individual batting styles :
for "tonkers"- Andrew Flintoff, Andrew Symonds, Adam Gilchrist.
for aggressive players- Sachin Tendulkar, V Sehwag, R Ponting.
for moderate players- Mark Waugh, Sourav Ganguly, Saeed Anwar.
for defensive players- Justin Langer, Nasser Hussain, Damien Martyn.
for tailenders- Glenn McGrath, Shoaib Akhtar, Jason Gillespie.
