Who Are The Old Grammarians?

The Old Grammarians Association was originally formed to provide social and recreational activities for former pupils of Battersea and its associated Grammar schools. As a result of government changes to the upper schools system, the demography makeup of the area, a general lack of interest in outdoor pursuits amongst today's youth, the inability to recruit, nurture and retain locally; OGA has become multi-cultural without any physical boundaries from which it recruits its members. Ownership of the land formerly designated to facilitate the above was sold to the Trinity Fields Sports Trust. The trust administers the use of the ground between several local schools, individuals hiring it for various events and the OGA which is one of the main tenants.

Our Mission

To encourage and promote sporting activities by maximising the use of the resources secured by the establishment of the Trinity Fields Trust, particularly amongst local youth under 25 years old.

Club Profile

OGCC (Old Grammarians' Cricket Club) is the cricket section of the OGA. It is a member of the Fullers Surrey County league. OGCC is a progressive club and currently field three Saturday  league teams.  In addition there is a Sunday league side which competes in the Fullers Brewery sponsored; London Old Boys league. The Sunday league season is complemented with a number of organised friendly fixtures. At OGCC we endeavour to strike a happy medium between being overtly competitive at the expense of wider enjoyment of the game. Greater emphasis is placed on the collective team performance as oppose to an imbalance due to one or two key individuals; for this reason we do not recruit professional players.

Although we welcome visiting spectators maximising the use of our bar facilities on match-days; the club is situated within close proximity of the open fields of Wandsworth common and the Surrey Tavern public house, a parade of restaurants, bars, cafes and fashion boutiques are an alternative attraction to minors accompanied by their Mum, Grandparents or those who are unable to play due to injury.
