If you are looking for another Britney Spears or Jessica Simpson clone, then this is not the place for you. Tara MacLean may be young, and she may have the pretty, petite looks of a pop-princess, but don't let any of this fool you. She's far more talented and real than any of the other young female artists out there today. Simply take a look at the lyrics and sound clips sections and see for yourself.

It's hard to put into words just how much I love Tara MacLean. I actually discovered her by accident, and I am so glad I did for she is a truely gifted artist with a beautiful voice and a talent for songwriting. She is and will forever be my favorite artist.

Her music is absolutely breathtaking. While she does write her fair share of love songs, that's not all she does. She writes on a variety of topics, which is something lacking with most mainstream artists these days. And she doesn't prance around in skimpy clothing to mask miniscule talents. She's the real deal: a singer, a writer and a musician. Sadly, that is probably why she is quite unknown here in the US, though thankfully she fares better in her native Canada.

Tara's first album, Silence, hit the scene in 1997, followed by a small EP, If You See Me, that same year. Her next full length album, Passanger, was released in 2000. During the period of time between 2003 and 2007, Tara was found as a member of Shaye, which paired her with two other Canadian singer-songwriters: Kim Stockwood and Damhnait (pronounced davnet) Doyle. They released two albums together: The Bridge and Lake Of Fire. Tara left the group in 2007 and released a small solo EP, Signs Of Life, followed by a full length solo album, Wake, in 2008. Wake includes all the songs from Signs Of Life, plus a few new tracks.

Please, look around the site. Check out the sound clips, and if you like what you hear, please, please, please, buy the albums.
