U.C. -- A place to go several times per day between the times of 7:15 AM and 7:15 PM to consume vast amounts of food, desserts, and cookies. Ozzy-jogging -- done early in the morning, prior to engaging in masochistic behaviors. Usually done while munching granola bars and with severe lack of sleep. "Quick out of Show" --said in honor of a rower who has completed his/her shower in a miraculously short amount of time. Spandex -- worn by rowers from the hours of 5:00 AM to 7:30 AM. Erg -- handy machine used by rowers when 2 hours of self-destructive exercises proves too minimal; often aids in the production of "ralph" and nervous apprehention. "Ralph" -- 1.) describing expression used by Kelz. 2.) The spewage of internal content; possibly caused by a.) erg b.) too much crew party. Cookie -- the ultimate source of sustinence, energy, and happiness. (e.g. If only Dorothy would eat more cookies, she would be happier). Often the cause of much distress (during lack of cookies, or when worrying about when it is cookie-time) and also elation (during the consumption of cookies). "Saggy Trou" -- The severe looseness of spandex upon a male rower's butt and/or legs. Often a product of a.) starving one's self in order to become a "light-weight", b.) buying the incorrect size of spandex for one's body type. Light-weight -- 1.) a male rower weighing in under 160 pounds. 2.) a female rower weighing in under 130 pounds. 3.) Bjorn. Launch -- The piece of junky metal with an attached engine chasing around 8's making ridiculous demands of the rowers. Usually lags several lengths behind. May contain one or more "coaches" aboard. Coach -- 1.) fearless leader 2.) source of inspiration 3.) ruthless critique of technique 4.) Driver of launch 5.) surrogate mother Granola Bars -- necessary food supplement for rowers. Usually consumed while Ozzy-jogging, and prior to masochistic ceremonies. May be consumed at other times during the day as desired. Misguidedly thought of by rowers as "food." School -- 1.) This thing we do in our "free time" 2.) Convenient place to nap after crew practice 3.) Source of ultimate confusion Free Time -- Definition unknown. |
