Anthony Theodore Chronopoulos (Ph.D.) Associate Professor at The Univ. of Texas in San Antonio. Division of Computer Science. Anthony is also an executive member of ARIADNE chapter of the Pancretan Association Of America in Greater San Antonio Texas.

He was born in municipality of Pylos (the historic Navarino) in Messinia, Greece. Graduated from Pylos Highschool.

He continued his undergraduate studies in mathematics department at the University of Athens, in Greece. Anthony received his Ph.D. at the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign in 1987 in Computer Science.

He is a senior member of the IEEE Computer Society. He has performed research under more than 10 different research grants and he has given over 50 conference and invited research lectures. He has advised 3 Ph.D. Dissertations and over 10 Master Thesis. He has co-authored 30 refereed journal papers and 20 conference proceedings papers in the areas of High Performance Computing, Distributed Systems and Applications and Computational Science. He has been awarded four NSF grants.

Anthony is a member of Saint Sophia's Greek Orthodox church and a devoted friend and supporter of the Pancretan Association of America. His goal is to help the local chapter ARIADNE to grow in time and be able to continue the purpose of this Chapter to advance the knowledge, understanding and appreciation of Crete, the cradle of Western Civilization and its history, culture, literature, language, music, arts, sciences, and other achievements. To promote social intercourse between modern Crete and all descendants of its people, and all other philocretans who subscribe to these purposes.  To provide for activities and opportunities for educational development, good will and mutual aid among members of the Chapter, and to engage in philanthropic and charitable acts that benefit the Greater San Antonio community.
