PRELIMINARY ASSESSMENT TASK 1

Power point presentation on Inclusivity, an aspect of Social & Ethical Issues. 

Describe a software program and hardware item that has been developed to address the statement “No member of society should be excluded from using a software application for reason of cultural, economic, social, gender or disability.”

Outcomes to be assessed: P1.3     describes the interactions between the elements of a computer system P2.2     explains the effects of historical developments on current practices P3.1     identifies the issues relating to the use of software solutions

 

This assessment task relates to your research project, designing and developing an educational presentation suitable for use by a group of Software Design & Development students.

 

This assessment task involves you presenting in Power Point, specific material that demonstrates your progress towards achievement of the above outcomes, which relate to the general goals

 

ü      knowledge and understanding about how software solutions utilise and interact with other elements of computer systems

ü      knowledge and understanding of the historical developments that have led to current practices in software design and development, and of emerging trends and technologies in this field

ü      knowledge and understanding of legal, social and ethical issues and their effect on software design and development

Ø      A document outlining your research. It should include your sources.

Ø      History and development of a hardware item.

Ø      History and development of a software package.
