We are keeping the most recent pictures on Solitaire's main page, but felt that her "growing up" pictures were too cute to delete.

Solitaire, as her name implies, is a singleton puppy. Here she is at two days with Mom. She is going to be one spoiled little girl!

Solitaire at four weeks working on some beef head meat. 

Solitaire's mom was also weaned on BARF so she knows how good it is. Lorena finished her regular meal of raw meaty bones with the rest of the big dogs, but asked Lisa for an extra piece. After putting away some frozen meat, Lisa checked on Lorena and pup and found Lorena in the whelping box with her 20 day old daughter lying between her front legs. Puppy looked engrossed in something so she went to look closer. Puppy was busy eating the raw, nearly frozen slab of meat! She was "talking" to it, pulling at it with all her might, with both paws planted on the meat to hold it still. She had just nubs for teeth, but she managed to eat quite a bit. Mother Nature at work!!

Solitaire keeping cool. For some reason, Lisa's dogs and mine seem to prefer the cold. Both of my litters required ice cube "saunas" at about one week of age, a time when normal puppies are under heat lamps.
