SPREADSHEET LAYOUT

 

Layout is the physical placement of information and data on the sheet.

 

It will depend on

 

·        Personal taste & preference

·        Complexity of calculations

·        Users ability

·        Format of the output

 

 

There are four main areas of the spreadsheet

 

1.      INSTRUCTION area can contain headings, labels as well as explanations for the user. It can also be called the IDENTIFICATION area.

2.      INPUT area can also be called PARAMETER / KEY area.

3.      CALCULATION area is the "engine" where the work is done.

A TEMPLATE  is a complete spreadsheet containing text labels, headings and formulae. The same template can be used over with new data.
