Your assignments should be handwritten.
Limit
each assignment to one A4 page
- Cut out pictures from magazines,
newspapers and advertisements of computer hardware, stick them on your A4
sheet and label them. You should have pictures of monitors, system boxes,
mouse, modem, printers. Due Friday 16th

newspapers and advertisements of computer software, stick them on your A4
sheet and label them. You should have pictures of wordprocessor, graphics,
spreadsheet, database, communications and games. Due Friday 2nd March
- Cut out job advertisements from the
newspaper that involve people using computers, stick them on your A4
sheet. You should have jobs for engineers, data processors, managers and
technicians. Due Friday 16th March
- Look in the newspaper for computer
systems for sale. Find five(5) ads and stick them on your A4 sheet. What
do you think are the most important things to look at when you want to buy
a computer? Due Friday 30th March
- Find out about Charles Babbage. What did
he do? Due Friday 11th May
- Find out about Ada Augusta Byron or
Countess Lovelace? What did she do? Due Friday
25th May
- Early computing devices were the abacus,
Napier's rods and the slide rule. Find out about these devices. Due Friday 8th June
- Find out about the history of the QWERTY
keyboard. Are there any other types? Due Friday

handwritten assignments is that you are limited to handwriting your answers in
exams.
