Your assignments should be handwritten.

1. Collect the prices of five similar personal computer systems from the newspaper or other source. Tabulate information Name, CPU, RAM, hard disk, monitor, CD drive, printer(if any), software and price. Outline your reasons for stating which computer offers the best value. Include the copies of the advertisments. Due Friday 15^th February

 

 

2. Describe how an ink-jet printer works.  Due Friday 1^st March

 

 

3. Describe the different types of CDs and how they are formatted. Due Friday 15^th March

 

 

4. Describe three operating system software packages. Your description should include the type of computer used and the cost.  Due Tuesday 2^nd April

 

 

5. Collect job advertisements for systems analysts, computer programmer, engineers, information managers, data entry operators and computer technicians. Tabulate qualifications,salary and hours of work. Include copies of the job advertisements. Due Friday 12^th April

 

 

6. Describe six(6) different programming languages. Find out how much each package costs and what they are used for. Due Friday 10^th May

 

 

7. Describe the hardware, software, data and users that are relevant to the Crestwood Library. What is the purpose of the library computer system? Due Tuesday 28^th May

 

 

8. Sketch a cathode ray tube and briefly describe its operation. Due Friday 7^th June

Your assignment should demonstrate your researching and organisational skills. The reason for handwritten assignments is that you are limited to handwriting your answers in exams.
