Tortilla Dip Supper

Prep time: 20 minutes

1 lb. lean ground beef 1 (16 oz.) can Old El Paso Refried Beans 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
1 cup Old El Paso Salsa � cup sour cream 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
2 cups shredded lettuce 2 med. tomatoes, chopped 5 cups tortilla chips

  1. Brown ground beef in large skillet over medium-high heat until thoroughly cooked, stirring frequently. Drain.
  2. Add refried beans, tomato sauce and salsa; mix well. Cook and stir 4 to 5 minutes or thoroughly heated and bubbly.
  3. In small bowl, combine sour cream and cheese; mix well. Spoon over beef mixture. Cover; cook over low heat for 3 to 4 minutes or until thoroughly heated. Remove from heat. Top with lettuce, and tomatoes. Serve with tortilla chips for dipping.

Healthy hint:
To reduce the fat in each serving of thtis recipe by about 8 grams, use fat-free refried beans, nonfat sour cream and reduced-fat cheese. Serve it with baked chips rather than fried.

Just for kids:
Have children place chips in their favorite individual serving dishes for use in scooping up this supper dip.

Serving suggestion:
Fresh fruit, lots of lemonade and iced tea go well with this simple and fun supper. Brownies make a nice dessert.
