
Professional Profile:
Creig
served in the U. S. Navy right out of high school. He was trained in nuclear
physics and electronics in Navy Schools and served for five years in the U.S.
Submarine Service. Upon entering civilian life, he went to school at UW Stevens
Point. He graduated in 1972 with a double major in English and Psychology. He
studied human problem solving and decision making at Southern Illinois
University, Carbondale and completed an M.A. and Ph.D. in Experimental
Cognitive Psychology with a minor in Psychobiology. His master’s thesis
entitled, ‘Word Perception: Implicit Speech or Automatic Encoding?’
investigated the process of reading and comprehension. His doctoral
dissertation, entitled ‘An Electromagnetic Theory of Human Brain Function',
examined the relationship between brain physiology and thought processes. After
graduate school he worked for the Bayfield County Alcohol and Drug Abuse Center
where he authored and administered a drug awareness program for teenagers,
called Teen Weekend. He also became involved with various environmental
organizations and became research director and spokesperson for a group called
Stop Project ELF, Inc. which investigated biohazards associated with extremely
low frequency electromagnetic radiation generated by high-tension power lines
and an experimental radio transmitter belonging to the U.S. Navy. He was also
asked by the Minnesota Environmental Quality Board to act as a research
protocol reviewer for studies on biohazards related to High Tension powerlines.
He has worked as a private consultant for Mind Sync, The Kronstedt Group,
Strategic Solutions, and most recently for Business and Technology Solutions.
In
1987 Creig accepted a position as adjunct faculty with the business and management division of
Cardinal Stritch College. In 1993, he was hired as fulltime faculty for the
College of Business and Management and received tenure in 1997. He teaches in a
variety of management areas with a special focus in Strategic Management,
Management Information Systems, and quantitative areas including statistics and
quantitative analysis.
Special Interests:
Creig
has worked with computers throughout college and graduate school and began
using and building his own desktop PCs in 1991 and has been active in teaching
computer theory and operation and software applications. Over the years he has developed a strong interest in Buddhism, meditation, and eastern philosophy. He has taught Statistics, and International Business to undergraduate business students in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya, Johar Bahru, and Penang, Malaysia and in Hong Kong. He has also taught Advanced Statistics, Managerial Economics, International Economics, and Management Information Systems in Shenyang and Beijing in Mainland China, and in Taipei, Taiwan.
