| Ah, Jhonen Vasquez. For people who don't know, Jhonen is the brilliant mastermind behind such works as Johnny the Homicidal Manic, Squee!, I Feel Sick, and Invader ZIM. | A WORD ABOUT HELLFANS: Hellfan: a term originally crafted by Jhonen Vasquez, is used to describe an overly obsessive fan, usually to the degree of frightening proportions. From my experiences at the various comic conventions and personal conversations with the man himself, I have found that hellfans of Mr. Vasquez are some of the most frightening people you will ever encounter. One cannot even comprehend the insane mentality behind these people who literally stalk the man, snaping pictures and sneaking around. My friend even had an encounter with someone who wanted to touch her because she had touched him......."for his skin flakes".....o.k. is anyone just a little bit afraid? I certainly wonder what happened to these people to allow themselves to be so cought up in a person that they don't even know. Does anyone even know how this craziness began??? I mean he's had fans since he hit the comic scene, but the recent success and popularity of the late Invader ZIM has unfortunately produced an entire new breed of hellfan; not appreciating the material so much, but who only want to see the crazy bastard behind it. Poor Jhonen...LOL |
