British Land Grants Issued on Lands Ceded by the Creek Indians June 1773. The following names are families who received grants around and close to Dury Rogers Fort at the Forks of the Ogeeghee River in what would later be named Wilkes County, Georgia.

Jacob Hollingsworth - Himself only. 100acres on Ogeechee between the trading paths, being a Mill Site.
Saunders Walker - A wife and daughter. 200 acres on fork between Ogeechee and Red Lick Creek. Resigned Nov. 8, 1773 to Isaac Bush.
Moses Powell - S.C. A wife, 3 sons, 1 dau. from 17 to 7 years old. 400 acres at mouth of Red Lick fork on Ogeechee.
Cader Powell - S.C. A wife and son 2 months old. 100 acres on Red Lick Creek 2 miles above the mouth.
John Clower - N.C. Himself only. 100 acres on Ogeechee about 5 miles above the upper Trading Path.
Note. The upper trading path crossed the Ogeechee just above the forks.

Ezekiel Williams - S.C. A wife, son, and dau. from the age of 3 years to 7 months. 350 acres at Rocky Creek, on both sides of the creek, where Moses Powell first entered.

Thomas Williams - Va. A wife, 5 sons, and 3 dau. from 18 to 3 years old. 350 acres on a branch of Ogeechee called Popular or Camp Creek.

John Cox - S.C. no family. 100 acres on upper trading path where it crosses the Ogeechee.
Thomas Williams - N.C. A wife and no other family. 150 acres on Ogeechee river about a mile below the mouth of Popular or Camp Creek.
Drury Rogers - A wife, 3 sons, 5 dau, from 13 to 1 year of age. 300 acres on Ogeechee below the mouth of Popular or Camp Creek. Note: One statement says "between Popular and Camp Creek".
John Hightower - N.C. A wife. 100 acres on Ogeechee above the mouth of Red Lick Creek.
Thomas Castelow - S.C. A wife, 1 son, and 7 dau. from 16 to 5 years old. 250 acres on Red Lick Creek adjoining Cader Powell.
Isaac Bush - S.C. A wife, 3 sons, and 3 dau. from 16 to 3 years old. 200 acres between Ogeechee and Red Lick Creek, on land resigned by Saunders Walker.

Joseph Miller - N.C. A wife, 2 sons, and 4 dau. from 19 to 7 years old. 200 acres on first branch below Red Lick Creek on Ogeechee.

Samuel Harris - N.C. A wife, 2 sons, and 1 dau. from 2 to 17 years old. 100 acres between forks of Ogeechee, including a Spring and a Pine marked W.H.

Isaac Truax - Pa. A wife and orphaned boy 13 years old. 100 acres on Red Lick Creek at a white Oak marked I.T.

John Buchanan - N.C. A wife 4 sons and 2 dau. from 12 to 2 years old, and an indentured servant 14 years old. 150 acres adjoining S.E. side Samuel Harris on a scrubby ridge.
Robert McLelan - N.C. A wife 4 sons and 4 dau. from 18 to 18 months old. 150 acres at North Fork of Ogeechee about half mile above corner tree 54&55 at a Red Oak marked T.B. and I.C.

John Harris - Pa. A wife and infant child. 200 acres below lands of John Buchanan.
Hugh Campbell - N.C. and his wife. 150 acres on Ogeechee a mile above land alotted Samuel Harris at an Elm marked H.C.
Silas Mercer - N.C. A wife, 1 son, and 1 dau. from 4 to 2 years old, and 3 indentured children. 100 acres on a little Spring branch about a mile below his fathers land at a place called Indian Ladder.
Note. Indian Ladder was just inland from the Ogeechee River just off the upper trading path.
James Lindsey - N.C. Himself, a brother and sister from 12 to 14 years old. 200 acres on South side the North fork of Ogeechee about 4 miles below John Harris land.

William Whealy - N.C. A wife, 1 son, and 2 dau. from 6 years. 200 acres on Ogeechee, the same entered by Robert McLelan.
