A Clockwork Orange released in 1971 stars Malcolm McDowell as Alex, a young sociopath who goes from deviant young punk, to amoral citizen, and back again. This is a powerfull and moving films which asks the question, "What is morality without free-will?"

It was nominated for
Best Picture, Best Director, and Best Screenplay. The film won the New York Film Critics Best PIcture and Director Award

Kubrick voluntarily banned this film in England where its over-the-top, comic book violence inspired many copycat crimes. To this day this film is still greatly missunderstood
