30 days : "An Atheist Among Christians"

I have strong reservations about the approach of (US) Christians towards Atheists, and if that approach is validated in the Bible.

Background information : in the US television program "30 days" a female Atheist (Brenda) is house guest in a Christian family.
She attends church with the Christian family as well as Bible study, and is involved with her hosts as member of the household.
Meanwhile the host family immerses Brenda in the community of the faithful.

There are three max. 10 minutes video's on this website for you to see, allowing you to answer my QUESTIONS below.

To go to the first video of three click here (on the next page you can click through again or return here)

After viewing the video's please reply to these questions :

At first in 1/5 and 2.5 the father of the family shows repeatedly a strong anti-Atheists bias, although Brenda shows no
anti-Christian aggression and provides no reason for his bias.

In part 5.5 and after 30 days he slowly minimizes his rejections of Brenda's views.

Aren't too many US Christians just as this father biased against - and afraid of - Atheists without any real valid reason?

WHY are so many strongly biased, and WHAT are they afraid of?

HOW can Christians validate these feelings, if one of the basics of Christianity is love and forgiveness?
Surely not on the Bible, or did I miss a Bible chapter? If so : which Chapter and Verse?

John
