Implications for Teachers
Schools are required to develop IEPs (Individualized Eduaction Plans) with students with disabilities to accommodate their needs.  IEPs are guidelines for following IDEA's provisions as part of ADA according to each individual child with disabilities.  In essence, EVERY child with a disability must be taught in the least restrictive environment possible and schools must provide accomodations for students with disabilities WITHOUT cost to the student and the student's parents.  IEPs may provide for accomodations such as hearing aids, specialized classes, and accessibility modifications such as wheelchair ramps.  Teachers are thus responsible for following the IEPs in order to provide education to the disabled student.
