Orchestra Homework Program

Orchestra Homework Program at my Studio recognizes that student has real challenges more often than not. School orchestra teacher or community orchestra director often selects musical compositions above the level of student readiness and creates understandable tension. Student becomes disinterested in what she/he is playing and finally chooses to quit orchestra program. Somebody may ask what is so difficult about playing an instrument? The answer may not be obvious but an instrument player has to handle many different tasks: handle left and right hands, follow and read the score, listen intonation, watch the conductor etc. And most important, all at once. During the math test you may return back to the problem to check it, in music playing the additional challege comes from necessity to handle your instrument in Real Time.

Based on my rich experience working with students, I know how much better they feel at orchestra after drills and discussions on the orchestra scores at my studio. It makes the whole difference. My students and their parents are very proud to win concertmaster or principal chairs at their school and community orchestras. And I am proud for them to overcome those daily challenges.

I believe this is one of the reasons why more than 30 students are taking instrument lessons at my studio right now. My name is on the list of violin/viola teachers at Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District. Students from Santa Monica Lincoln Middle School, Adams Middle School, SM High School, SM Crossroads School, Harward-Westlake Lower and Upper Schools, Beverly Hills High School, Culver City High School, Palms Middle School, Los Angeles Center of Enriched Studies, Sinai Akiba Academy, Pacific Palisade High School attend my studio weekly.
