There's a stretch of Highway 16, that runs from Prince George BC, west to Prince Rupert.  The scenery is breathtaking, rolling hills, green feilds, majestic mountains.  If you're lucky you'll see a variety of wildlife along the roadside.  The towns are small and quaint, the people are friendly and outgoing.  I have personally made this trip many times, and enjoyed every minute of it.  That was before I knew the horrible secrets this stretch of road really holds.

Since 1990 eight women have gone missing.  Four have been found dead, four are still missing.  This part of highway 16, is now known as the "Highway Of Tears".
The disappearance and deaths of these women are still being investigated by the RCMP.  Information about these women, and the investigation is provided here

Anyone with any information about the disappearance of these women is asked to contact the RCMP or
Crimestoppers.

In November of 2005, a website  dedicated to the memory of these women, and there families was launched.    To read more about these women, or leave a message of encouragement for their families, please visit www.highwayoftears.ca
