jen hand sewed stuffed
creatures
out
of socks in january of 2006
 |
once the fotos of
these creations hit flickr,
she found people
wanted to adopt them |

|
fuffalumps
might be sewn out of towels, socks, felt, fake fur, knits, and
silks
every fuffalump is
one of a kind
though jen
sketches ideas, it isn't until she sees and feels the
fabric that inspiration comes
out |
this
is the first member of the fuffalump family, suzie fuffalump
|
"fuff",
"jenafuffer"
and "fuffanutter" are just some of the nicknames jen's family gave her
when she was little
a friend helped
with the name "fuffalump" for her unique,
crazy creations

jen's
husband is very supportive and joins in her enthusiasm
for making a creature as different or odd as possible
|
with demand
and
impatient energy, jen switched to machine
sewing bodies and appendages and then attaching them by hand
|
jennifer gives
her creations an undeniable
personality by hand sewing parts of the face

|
|
|
|
the eyes have it!
buttons and
beads of all shapes and sizes
make wonderful eyes
in
her studio jen has arranged such objects by
"pupil", "iris" and "eyeballs"

|

a young fan was
influenced by the skewy asymmetry of jen's
fuffalumps and made his own out of a paper bag
|
recently, jen started making
smaller fuffalumps
each
small fuffalump is still one of a kind but they can fit in the palm of
your hand
