Letter to Newt Gingrich
You are right (Wall Street Journal January 2, 2001) that technology is trumping ideology and there is a think tank starting to integrate that concept with others: my Center for Creating the Future, now being established in Fort Lauderdale. We used to need ideas to explain what we did not know, e.g. "what does Marx or Aristotle or Adam Smith say?" Now we can find out the answer. Ideology now only deals with the factually unexplainable, cf. pope John Paul II on evolution, Stephen Jay Gould, and values, which still remain of great importance.
