| Proposal (14 March 2001) Creating the Future of Parking in Broward County by The Center for Creating the Future, Inc. and the Institute for the Post-Petroleum Era Objectives 1. Describe present issues facing commercial, governmental and multi-residential parking arrangements in Broward County; 2. Describe present projections of parking demand for future policy needs, 3. Describe present responses to those needs, including parking organization and management patterns; 4. Describe possible alternatives to those responses; 5. Recommend choices for the future -- create the future of Broward County Parking Strategies. Methodology 1. Gather existing information concerning present responses to future parking needs, including applicable policies, rules and regulations; 2. Gather alternatives from all possible sources, including national and international examples; 3. Analyze material and recommend present actions to prepare for the future, i.e. "create the future" of parking in Broward County, including a potential range of costs and benefits; 4. Keep a continuous flow of the work available on the Internet and request on-going public, both local and non-local, input, to be included as appropriate in the final report; 5. Prepare and present the final report (a) in the customary printed form, (b) on the Internet and (c) in a visual format to be determined later, e.g. video, powerpoint, illustrator.
