Websites with Free graphics
I tried to find sites that allowed you look for graphics without signing up for membership. You can search for specific types of graphics by searching at Google.com for free flower graphics or free animal grapics, free music graphics, etc. Here are some free general graphics sites:

Free Windows and Mac graphic editing program
I don't own a Windows computer anymore so I can't vouch for the ease of using these programs (The descriptions are from the program's website.):
- Paint.NET
- Paint.NET is free image and photo editing software for
computers that run Windows. It features an intuitive
and innovative user interface with support for layers,
unlimited undo, special effects, and a wide variety of
useful and powerful tools. An active and growing
online community provides friendly help, tutorials,
and plugins.
- XNView
- Come to discover XnView, a software to view and convert graphic files, really simple to use ! Support of more than 400 graphics formats ! It's free, so do not hesitate!
- GIMP
- GIMP is the GNU Image Manipulation Program. It is a freely distributed piece of software for such tasks as photo retouching, image composition and image authoring. It works on many operating systems, in many languages.
Mac graphic editing programs:
I'm a recent convert to Macs and haven't found a free graphics program that I really like. I found a inexpensive one at Photoline/. If you find one, email me at creakinator @ yahoo.com and I'll add it to my list. (The descriptions are from the program's website.):
- LiveQuartz
- LiveQuartz is a powerful free image editor. It is based on layers and CoreImage filters. You have the layers on the left and the filters on the right of the window. To edit an image, just drag it into the layers' list and it will be added as a new layer. (My opinion at first glance this is a nice program but has a steep learning curve.)
Examples for banners
Here are some banners I created as examples of what you can do. I used Photoline, but any of the programs listed above will work for you. There are free websites that will create free banners for you. The banner to use on freetoasthost must be exactly 670 pixels wide by 75 pixels tall and must be a jpg (JPEG) file type.
