Myself
Looking back in my childhood life, I grew up without my father and mother beside me. Mostly, I learned on my own. I was raised by my grandparents and spent most of my life with them. Now, that I am with my both parents, I can say that It is a new experience for me. Growing up without the nurture and guidance of  my parents, I find myself sometimes uncomfortable but somehow I can say that I am happy because I am able to spend the time that had stolen from those years without them. Right now, I am enjoying my life, seing how our relationship as a family grows  and coping up with My new environment, culture, and adjustment here in America.
My name is Christopher Ralph Bataoil and I was born in the Philippines. I just got here in the U.S. last year and spent most of time studying, working and knowing more about American culture.
Currently, I'am enrolled in ThomasNelsonCommunity College and I have finished some English college courses since I'm not native in this country. I'm taking two college courses this summer such as English 111 and Psychology 201. I'm here in Thomas Nelson studying because one day I want to pursue what I have started back in my country; to be in a medical field degree. This summer, my plan is to finish the two courses that I'm taking and get a good grades and  looking forward to pass these courses.
I have been studying in this institution for almost a year now and I can say that I have learned a lot of things that helped me to be in where I am right now. I am satisfied from what I learned and continue to seek for learning and reap and apply the knowledge that I have gained studying in this college.
Being in this country is not always easy, because of huge differences in cultural background, I may find myself sometimes having trouble to look forward to. The big adjustments are sometimes  accompanied by fear . But being here with someone who supports me- family, friends, teachers- it gives me the urge to continue not just for myself but for them also and the future that I want to pursue.
