The story begins December 31, 1999 ( New Years Eve)- Phillip J Fry explains the finer points of Monkey Fracas(Arcade game) to a boy at Panucis Pizza.Panuci shouts to Fry "Delivery Common". Fry goes to deliver the pizza and discovers that he is delivering it to a cryogenic facility to an I.C. Weiner. Fry realizing it is a joke pops open a beer and and take a seat at the desk and reclines in the chair. Fry Falls into an open cryo tube and accidentally becomes frozen. Time passes and Fry Awakes New Years day 3000. Fry Soon meets Leela the one eyed Alien who's job is to assign Jobs(implanting Career Chips in your hand) at the cryo facility. Fry learns he will once again become a delivery boy and runs away from Leela. And then meets Bender ( A Robot) who is fed up with his job (bending unit). They quickly become friends and go for a drink at a local Bar. Leela told she must track down Fry see's him in the bar and a nother chase insues. Fry and Bender end up in the Head mueseum and leela finds them. Then the Police show up to arrest Fry & Bender but they escape, Leela tracks them again in the sewers of New New York (Old New York) and they also become Friends . The now three out laws decide to go to Fry's only living realitive Prof. Farnsworth the owner of Planet Express Delivery company. The police track the three to Planet express and sorround the building The Professor hires the three as delivery workers as he is Short A delivery crew as they all died in the space bee hive. Leela still having the ability to assign jobs( implant a chip) implants the previous crews chips into Fry and her hands and they talke off in the planet express ship. It is a brave new life for Fry and what a new life it is again a Delivery Boy. (This Time On His Own Terms)
The New Crew embarks on its first mission a trip to the Moon. Fry enthusiastic about going to the moon soon learns that there is an amusement park on it.
Fry encourages Leela to explore the moon, Meanwhile Amy loses the keys to the ship and Bender causes mischief and gets kicked out of the park. As Fry and Leela explore the moon on an education trip on their own personal lunar rover Fry becomes disappointed and frees the rover from its track and they begin to drive around the Moon. As fry and Leela find them selves running low on air they discover a farm where they are allowed to work for air and a s they are working they discover that Bender has angered the farmer by sleeping with his Lovely Robot daughter. They soon find them selves fleeing for safety from the enraged farmer and end up on the original Lunar Lander site and take refuge there. Fry disappointed by his experience of the moon explains to Leela what he had expected then notice the view of the earth and it all clicks to her what Fry�s Fascination was. Then they all get rescued by Amy.
Fry is such a slob that he is kicked out of the Planet Express Office. So now he has to find a place to stay and Bender asks him to stay with him. Fry Soon realizes that a robots (2�x2�) apartment is no place for a human. Fry soon finds the apartment of his dreams and he convinces bender to move in with him. Then a Problem arises where bender is forced to leave. Leela then intervenes and helps Bender and Fry to reconcile and are both told to leave the apartment and they both go back to Bender�s apartment where bender tells Fry he can put his plant by the window in the closet as Bender opens a door to reveal a rather Spacious Apartment.
On a mission to save animals from a dying planet the crew has their first encounter with Captain Zap Branigan. Branigan ends up making love to Leela as bender and Fry sit in a cell in the Brig of Branigan�s ship. Then Leela, Fry and Bender leave the ship and go to the planet to save the animals. On the Planet they save the animals and their list and one more, strange animal. They load the animals into the cargo hold and then go to take off as the planet starts to collapse. They leave the planet and then check to make sure the animals are ok. When they open the hold there are only two animals left, the strange little one and a very large beast they soon realize that the little animal has eaten all the others. Leela names him nibbler. And now the ship is out of fuel. Then nibbler goes poop and Leela realizes that it is dark matter (Fuel) and Bender and Fry load the ship with the fuel and fly home.
