LOTR SERIOUS POETRY
Some Serious LOTR poetry
Merry and Pippin

Look at all the little hobbits
Wandering round their shire green
Talking vaguely with the neighbours
Let me tell you where theyll soon have seen

That one there is a Brandybuck
Hell travel out with the carrier of the ring
And the one nearby is a Took.
You can tell him by his silly grin

Theyll travel alongside a Baggins
At least up to Amon Hen
Where the orcs will carry them out to fangorn
You can hardly believe that this will be them!

For now they live here, so content
Happy to watch the sun rise and set
And go out to the Green Dragon for a beer
Until their destiny is met!
Song of the Shore

Out to the grey havens they go
The elders of the eldest race
Oh elves are leaving for far off shores
Leaving middle earth in their grace

But always I am left behind
Treading through the dying woods
Paceing steps Ive paced before
Going places no mortal can

How I long to walk along the shore
And sing to the sea in elven tones
But that road is barred from me
As I wander through these ancient stones.
