ONE:
Elliot swallowed as he entered the hospital. It was a familiar scene but still he was rather sick of the messages to meet a victim at the hospital. It was rather redundant. “Detective Elliot Stabler.”
Glance at him the nurse nodded. “Called for one of you hours ago.” She snapped at Elliot.
Over the years his temper hadn't changed but being stretched thin, Elliot knew he couldn't loose his temper over the fact that Fin and him were the only two working cases. Munch was in court, Olivia was out of town assisting another squad house, and Tory, who Cobb was married too, was at a doctor's appointment.
“We're stretched 'in.”
Cajun accent surprising Elliot, he turned seeing Cobb dressed in jeans, tee-shirt and a leather coat. Nodding a greeting to the other detective, C6bb rubbed his lower back—wincing slightly as he did. The pain of that injury would never leave him alone.
“You are?” the nurse returned seeing the surprise on Elliot's face.
He fished his badge out of his pocket before flashing it at her. “Detective Jake Cobb.”
Elliot saw her lip curl before the nurse left to get the file. “When you get here?”
“Cragen called,” Cobb returned. “Said I should give you a 'and.”
“Fast driver.”
Cobb's eyes flashed a lance across the ER hallway. “I was down the hall,” Cobb returned after a moment as the nurse returned.
“She's the third door on the right.” she told both detectives bluntly.
Nodding Elliot looked over at Cobb as the other detective popped a pill and swallowed it. “What's up with Tory?” he asked after a moment before eying the pill bottle going back into Cobb's leather coat.
“Got the flu,” Cobb returned bluntly. “Docs are givin' her some meds.”
“GET AWAY!”
Both detectives ran into the room before eying the scene in front of them. Ducking the flying shoe, Elliot saw the young beaten woman before swallowing. “What's going on!”
She turned, black eye clearly seen by both detectives. “Get him away from me!”
“Sir,” Elliot stated before placing his hand on the girls attacker. “Come on.”
Watching Elliot leave with the other man, Cobb leaned against the door frame. “I'm Detective Cobb.” He told her after watching her sit with a huff onto the bed. “What's your name, Cherrie?”
“Sidonie,” She sighed.
Motioning to a chair, Cobb watched as she nodded. “Sidonie,” he repeated as he slowly sat. “Who's the other guy?”
“My dad.”
