ONE:
It seemed more than just a simple G-ride that was sure. It was one of the hottest rides in New York and he had just swiped it from some guy.
100 points easy.
Then he saw the lights behind him. The flashing blue and white colors never meant it was a good thing. Still however to him it was a small blessing in disguise as he slowed the car. Eyes watching the officer as he approached. “Trouble?”
“License and registration.”
Fumbling for his driver’s license, the man swallowed as he memorized the name of the cop. Walkins. Handing the id to the man, he waited for only a minute before the gun was brought out and the trigger squeezed.

Flack’s blue eyes watched as she got out of the car with another detective. Her dark hair pulled back, Flack watched as she pushed up her sunglasses to reveal her tired blue eyes. “Flack,” she greeted after a moment before her eyes sparkled to life.
“Nikki,” Flack greeted before nodding a greeting to her companion. “Officer Chad Walkins, Served three years in desk patrol. Married, wife is pregnant with the first.”
Her eyes locked with the other Detective’s before moving away from him. She bent down and examined the corpse. “Heard it might be twins,” Glancing over her shoulder at Mac, “Taylor.”
“Lea, Flack,” Mac greeted casting a glance at the corpse. “You guys mind.” He asked after a moment. Watching Nikki stand, he gave her a small smile. “I’ve got to process.”
“And we’ve got statements,” Nikki stated as she and Flack moved aside.
Mac nodded before slipping his gloves over his hands before bending down to look at the body of Officer Walkins. “Flack, you take the shield.”
He stopped and turned to look back at Mac. “I know the rules, Mac. Didn’t take it.” He stated after a minute. “Why?”
“If you two didn’t take it. I didn’t bag it. Someone is playing dress up.”
TWO:
Stella’s eyes darkened as she got out of the car and moved around her car. “Danny’s got the north, you get the south.” Mac called as he approached.
“Where’s Aiden?”
“Court,” Mac replied. “Not her fault she’s got jury duty.”
Stella nodded after a minute. “Who was it?” She asked after a moment before slipping her gloves on.
“Officer Chad Walkins.” Mac sighed. “So far his shield is missing.”
Stella nodded after a minute. Part of her had never wanted to bury another cop. She had done plenty of that on 9/11 and then those that were targeted by worthless criminals. Glancing over at Flack, he saw him talking with another Detective and the Chief of Detectives. Watching the other detective turn, Stella noticed who it was. Nikki Lea.
The woman was nice enough but her attitude of what the evidence could prove and what it couldn’t prove was enough to force Stella to nearly pull out her dark curls. Part of her didn’t know why she had become a cop, after the woman’s past with math was amazing. Rumor around the lab was that Detective Lea was a past member of Mensa.
“Mac!”
Danny approached after a minute before following Stella’s eyes. “Got tire treads,” Danny stated. He went to continue as he heard the shouts. Watching the detectives move, he saw Flack move but Nikki stopped him before moving away herself after Flack tossed her his keys.
Glancing down at her phone when it rang, Stella saw it was the lab. “I’m with them.” She stated after reading the text message. Pulling off her gloves, Stella joked to Nikki before getting into the car.
Mac’s eyes turned to slits as he watched three cars pull away and was beginning to get confused. A cop was shot and now he was down to only himself with Danny’s assistance. “What is it Danny?”
“Distinct tire treads.” Danny stated after a moment. “Plus I sprayed the pavements. Got boot prints.”
“Could be anyone’s though. Pedestrians.” Mac countered.
“Nah,” Danny stated after a minute while watching Hawkes come under the tape. “The perp bent over Officer Walkins probably took the badge from the uniform and drove off.”
Watching the two CSIs talk, Flack wondered if at the moment he should mention the sudden shooting spree at the mall. Stella would obviously tell them about it, though he feared for both women safety on the voyage over there. With no matter how much they seemed to be each other’s foils, both women were alike. Still however Mac would need to know. He’d want to know after all.
