Forgotten: A Drew Taylor Story

ONE:

Taylor Residence
10:14 pm

He had planned this party strictly for a night that his father had been working late. Now, Drew Taylor was the host of one of the largest High School graduation parties in New York. Tracing a finger down the arm of his date and girlfriend, Drew sat next to his cohort in planning the party on the patio over looking the outdoor dance floor.

Some where in the throng of people was the third planner of the party Tory Munch. It had been her main doing of letting those at Resin High School know about the party and no doubt they were thanking for it.

Kissing Kat Stabler on the neck, Drew got up and returned into the kitchen to find something more to drink. He didn’t even have to guess what was going on in most of the bedrooms. Of course, he knew that it was the one time for most of the weirder seniors would loose their virginity but he didn’t want to think of it happening in his bedroom

The crash came from upstairs some where. He knew he had put more fragile things that had belonged to his mother away. Like usual, Drew was planning to ignore it until he heard the blood curdling scream floating through his house.

 ~~~
“What do they need us for?” Elliot Stabler asked as he got out of the car. “From the report it’s just a mummified corpse.”
Olivia Benson shrugged. “Maybe if you’re lucky you can get introduced to Gil Grissom.” She teased her partner.
Glancing at her, Elliot didn’t say anything as they entered the house. “Detectives Stabler and Benson.” He informed the uniform that went to stop them. “Where’s the fire.”
“No fire sir.” The uniform stated, confused. “They just refused to talk with anyone but you.”
“They.” Olivia asked after a minute. Following the uniform, Olivia entered the garage where her eyes fell on Tory, Drew and Kat. “Oh this they.”
TWO:
“Well hello Children.” Munch stated about fifteen minutes after he had arrived. “Tory.”
“Dad.” Tory replied after a minute to increase her dramatic sigh. “We had nothing to do with it.”
“At least this time.” Drew added.
“We never had anything to do with the other times either.” Kat finished resting her head on Drew’s shoulder. “Well maybe that one with the Diplomat dude.”
“But that was bad judgment.” Tory corrected. “On my part.”
Holding up his hands, Elliot silenced the three of them. “We could probably go on and on about what you three have or haven’t done. Causing trouble is one of those we could play merry-go-round on.”
“I hate those things.” Tory muttered. Glancing at Fin she gave a loose smile before looking at her feet again.
“What happened here?” Fin asked after giving a smirk with Tory’s comment of merry-go-rounds. “Why won’t you three talk to any one else here.”
“Because you know us.”
Drew went to continue as one of the CSI techies came out and pulled Elliot aside. “Yeah.” Elliot replied.
“We found a couple of Kegs.” The CSI told him. “Their in the kitchen.”
Letting out a hiss of air, Elliot nodded. “Drew.” Beckoning the only male teenager towards him, Elliot led him into the kitchen and leaned on the counter between the two kegs. “Explanation.”
“Oh,” Drew stated. “Cream Soda.” He told Elliot after a minute.
Part of Elliot knew that Drew was a good kid, though he had drove Kat nuts the first couple of years in high school but now they were dating and taking Karate. Go figure. “I wasn’t born yesterday.”
Rolling his eyes, Drew moved to Elliot’s side and took a cup from the cabinet. Filling the cup halfway with the foamy drink, he handed to Elliot. “It’s a little trick I learned in Psychology. People see Keg, think Alcohol.”
Sniffing the drink, Elliot paused before glancing at Drew and taking a drink. “Cute trick.” Elliot mumbled after he realized that it was cream soda. “So who else lives here?”
“My dad and me.” Drew answered. “My mom died from cancer four years ago, right before I went into high school. Andrea, my little sister, Mom sent her over seas to a boarding school when she was six. She hasn’t been home much.” Drew informed him.
“Got a number for her?” Elliot asked.
“My dad does.”
“WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON HERE!”
Turning Elliot didn’t notice Drew flinch at the yelling. “Dad.” Drew stated to Elliot before moving to the main hallway. “You're home.”
"I got a call.” Troy Fuller stated to his son. “What the hell is going on here, Andrew Kyle?”
Full name, Drew thought, big trouble.
“Mr. Fuller,” Elliot stated moving to stand behind Drew. “I’m Detective Elliot Stabler. The police were called after a discovery of a mummified corpse in your attic.”
“A what?”
“A mummified corpse. It was found in your attic.” Elliot repeated. “Do you know why it would be in there?”
“No.” Mr. Fuller stated after a minute. “Why would people be in the attic Andrew.”
Shrugging, Drew stuffed his hands into his pockets. “I don’t know.” He mumbled.
Moving to his son, Mr. Fuller brought Drew’s face up with his finger to look him in the eye. “Were you having the party that I said no too.”
Drew stepped away after a minute. “Do you need me any more Detective Stabler?” He asked,
Nodding, Elliot watched as Drew walked away from them. “Drew said you had the number of his sister in boarding school over seas.”
“What?” Mr. Fuller asked. “Yes it’s in my office.” He answered.
Motioning for Mr. Fuller to go forward, Elliot watched as Olivia came around the corner. “Elliot.”
“If you could get that number for me.”
“Yeah, sure.”
Moving over to join his partner, Elliot followed her up the stairs to look at the corpse. “How old?” He asked after a minute.
Not looking up at the Detective the CSI techie lowered his camera before raising it again and taking a picture of the body before lowering it again. “My guess, in between five or ten.”
"Guess Gil Grissom got the night off.” Elliot muttered.
THREE:
Lights Out Hotel
5842 Exlira Dr.
Sunday May 20
Questioning and corpse removal took over three hours. Checking into a hotel, Drew had barely spoken with his father who was already fuming over the party. Swallowing, he clutched his duffel bag of things before entering the hotel room and looking at the bed he would be sharing with his father. “Dad.” He stated after a minute. “About the party.”
“Yes, let’s talk about the party.” Mr. Fuller stated. Sitting on the edge of one of the beds, he watched as Drew sat down on the other bed. Watching his son fumble with the hole that had been torn into the well used black hoodie; he slapped Drew’s hands away from the hole. “Stop that!” He ordered.
Pulling his hands away, Drew backed away from the bed corner out of his father’s range. “I know you said no party, but come on! It was a graduation party.”
Standing, Mr. Fuller walked away from his son. “I said, no Andrew.”
“I didn’t expect to have the cops called.” Drew stated. “Especially for a corpse.”
“Don’t lip off to me, Andrew.”
Drew swallowed. “Yes sir.” He stated after a minute.
“What was that?”
“I said, Yes Sir.” Drew repeated as he again fumbling with the hole in the hoodie. Sticking his thumb in the hold, he popped it through before the hand hit him across the face. The ring cutting into his cheek, leaving a bright pink blotch which Drew knew would later bruise.
Falling off the bed, Drew looked up at his father confused on the hit. “I told you not to mess with that.” Was the only explanation that was heard. Standing, Drew got up and rubbed his check.
Not this again, Drew replied, Not again.
“I told you no party.” His father stated after a minute. “Next time listen to me.”
“Yes, sir.” Drew replied.
 Glaring at his son, Mr. Fuller faked as if he was going to hit him again. “No got get yourself cleaned up.”
Nodding feebly, Drew left the room to get some ice in order to attempt and reduce the bruise on his cheek.
FOUR:
“Well I’ve never seen a mummy before.” The ME informed Munch and Fin. “Who found it?”
Clearing his throat, Fin glanced at Munch. Though he didn’t exactly want to say that it was a couple of Cop kids, he didn’t want to lie. “Some kids.” He stated. “Fell from an attic.”
“An attic.” The ME chuckled. “Couldn’t have been kept there for ever.” She told them. “It’s too damp and dank in an attic.”
“What do you have then?”
Glancing at Munch, She sighed. “Definitely female, from the width of the hips and the pelvis. Young, may six or seven.” She stated. “She was abused.
“How can you tell?” Fin asked.
Picking up the file on the counter next to her, The ME flicked on the X-Ray viewer before shoving up the two X-ray Charts. “Well, Her left wrist, it’s been broken in three spots.” She paused to point them out to the detectives, “And she at least cracked a rib.” Sighing she pulled off the charts. “I’ll know more when I clean the bones.”
“DNA?”
“All ready gave it to the labs.” The ME told them. “Oh and Detectives.”
“Yeah?” Munch stated after a minute.
“She’s got sand and dirt covering her and I found them under the fingernails. My guess she was killed, buried and then afterwards she was hidden in the attic for some reason.”
“Great.” Munch replied. Leaving the ME with his partner, Munch pressed the elevator button.
“Just say it.” Fin snapped after a minute. “I know you want too.”
Glancing at Fin, Munch pushed up his glasses. “You know Tory has something to do with this.”
 “Yeah, she’s just always the one to bury bodies in attics.”
“Candeleria, Lenard, Russell—“
Sighing, Fin shook his head. “Fine point made.” He muttered after a minute.  “I doubt she had anything to do with this one…dead bodies cramp her style.” He finished using Tory’s words.
FIVE:
Hanging up the phone, Elliot rubbed his eyes. “Tell me, have the people in England ever heard of background or hold music.” Yawning he looked at coffee that Olivia was handing him. “Thanks.”
 “My question is. Didn’t any notice this girl was missing?” Olivia asked him sitting on the edge of his desk. “That young, some one had to have noticed her missing. Teachers, friends, soccer coach.”
Sipping the coffee, Elliot shrugged. “You’d be surprised.” He stated. Thinking back he remembered Tory’s little vanishing act though hers wasn’t voluntary or legal.
“Morning Children.” Munch called.
“What the ME say.”
Fin didn’t answer until he had removed his coat and placed it over his chair. “The usual cocktail, young, abused, murdered and get this she was buried some place other then where we found her.”
“Well that sweetens the pie.” Elliot mumbled. “Do we have DNA?”
“Not yet. ME sent it off to the labs. CSI guys should have it by early this morning.” Fin informed him.
“About the same time the boarding school will be returning my call.” Elliot replied. “Get some sleep. We can pick up the case in the morning.”
“Right…bright and early.” Olivia sighed.
SIX:
Resin High School
1546 Resin Road
Monday May 21
Palming the cover-up, Drew slipped into the bathroom before anyone had actually seen him. He had never done this recently but now it seemed like second nature to him. Using it on the bruise, Drew made sure it blended into his skin before stuffing the cover-up into his back pocket as several of the football jocks came into the bathroom.
“Heard about the dead chic in the attic Taylor. Damn, you really know how to PAR-TAY!”
“Yeah.” Drew stated queasily as he slipped out of the bathroom. Heading back to his locker Drew nearly had another bruise to cover up by nearly getting hit in the face by Tory’s locker door. “Morning sunshine.”
Swinging her door back, Tory looked at Drew. “Don’t call me that.” She snapped. Using the door as a divider, Tory dug around in her book bag before stuffing her Advanced World History textbook and the report that went with it into her bag and then picked up the copy of Dracula that she was going to be reading in study hall instead of working on her late Chemistry homework.
“Wake up on the wrong side of the bed.”
“Yes.” Tory fired back. Slamming her locker door shut, Tory cursed before doing the combination again and pulling out the cappuccino and apple fritter that she was eating for breakfast.  “You know my dad has accused us of putting the corpse there.” Tory informed him offering him part of the fritter. “Well he hasn’t said so but he’s thinking it.”
“Thinking what?”
Sipping her drink, Tory offered some fritter to Kat as well who also took her piece. “Stuffing the corpse into the attic.” Tory stated with a full mouth of fritter. “Like we do something that stupid.”
“Well there was Candelaria.” Kat pointed out.
“And your stepfather.” Drew added.
“Holding out her free hand, Tory beckoned him to return the part of the fritter he had all ready eaten. “Don’t mention that. And return your breakfast, snot.” She snapped.
Chuckling, Drew looked at Tory as the bell rang. “See you guys in Chemistry?” Tory asked after hearing the bell.
“At the station.” Drew stated with a sigh as he watched the rain begin to fall. At least he didn’t have to worry about doing anything outside as he moved into the office for his period as Office assistant.
~~~~

“Get this!” Elliot stated as he stood from his desk. “Andrea Dawn Taylor.” He read from his notepad. “Never attended any boarding school anywhere.”

“Taylors are lying.” Olivia stated after a minute.

“At least the dad is.” Elliot finished. Cracking a half smile, he stood. “Want to go find out why?” He asked.

“Always.” Olivia replied returning the half smile.

SEVEN:
Rickie and Troy’s Billiards
6432 Airport Highway

“Trust me these barstools will beat any others that you could get anywhere.” Mr. Taylor stated. “If Jimmy Hoffa were around, he choose em.”

“You use that as every sales pitch.”

Looking over at Elliot and Olivia, Mr. Taylor sighed. “Excuse me.” He stated to his client before leading the detectives to the billiard tables. “What can I do for you detectives?”

“You can start with the truth.” Olivia stated. “Andrea isn’t in any private school is she?”

Swallowing Mr. Taylor hung his head. “Perhaps we could talk about it some place more private.” He stated after a minute.

“All right.” Elliot replied.

Leading them back to his office, Mr. Taylor closed the door after Elliot and Olivia had entered. Sitting behind his desk, he leaned back in the chair before resting his chin in his chest. “I’m sorry I lied. I just didn’t want Andrew to know about it.”

“Know about what?” Olivia asked.

“His little sister, Andrea.” Mr. Taylor paused and pinched the bridge of his nose. “She was abducted around the time we told Andrew that she was accepted to a private school. He loved his little sister and we couldn’t bear to tell him that she was taken.”

“Did you file a police report.”

Nodding, Mr. Taylor looked at Elliot. “Please tell me, is there anyway that this body could be her.”

“It would help if you had something of Andrea’s. Something we could use to rule out her DNA with.” Olivia replied.

“We have some baby hair over at the house. We kept them of both of the children—well my wife did.” Sniffing he looked at Elliot. “If you need anything else, let me know.” Pausing he glanced at his customer. “I’m sorry I have to get back.” He informed them.

“Sure.” Elliot stated as he glanced at Olivia. The lie had seemingly been honest. Watching Mr. Taylor return to the customer, Elliot’s eyes soon turned to look at Olivia.

EIGHT:

Taz2damax: I got you all beat. Movie day in English.

Crazylegsdancer88: Is that Fisherback?

Taz2damax: Yeap. And today’s viewing delight is some old black and white movie…Silent something or other.

PinkPantherTrouble: The Quite Man.

Crazylegsdancer88: Know that how?

Taz2damax: Dad probably.

PinkPantherTrouble: No…I own it. Not all of my stuff is bad, illegal or anti adult.

Taz2damax: Yeah Right.

Hanging up his phone, Drew stuffed it back into his pocket as he leaned back in his chair. Closing his eyes, Drew actually was happy to be at school as he looked over at the door to see two cops walk by.

Raising an eyebrow, Drew knew he was in New York but naturally, cops didn’t wander the halls. Standing he felt, his phone vibrate in his pocket as he walked to the teacher’s desk to be excused. Collecting his things on the way out, he slipped back to his locker, which meant following the cops.

“Yeah they said find out his class.”

“Taylor? He was the kid with the corpse right?”

“Same one.”

Slipping down the hall to his locker, Drew tossed his books into the locker before grabbing his coat and car keys before slipping out of the school. This was turning into a nightmare.

~~~
“ME just called.” Munch stated as he and Fin entered the school. “DNA was a match.”
“So the body is Andrea Taylor.” Fin stated after a minute as they heard the bell ring. Watching the halls flood with students, surprised Fin then realized the split schedules for lunch.
“Oh Starsky and Hutch!” Tory stated from behind them.
“Tory.” Fin stated with a smile. “Where’s Drew?”
Looking up at ceiling, Tory chewed on her bottom lip. “Uh.”
“Tory.” Munch warned.
“English.” She informed her father. “Geez, dad give us a break. He just had a corpse fall through his homes ceiling.”
Bout to get a lot worse Fin thought. “Thanks.”
“Not a problem.” Tory spun on her heel before spinning back. “I’m going to Kat’s tonight dad. We’ve got a Chem project, thingy. She said she’d help.”
“Though you were grounded.”
“It was a party.” Tory fired back. “Besides it boosts my grades. No paying for summer school.”
Resisting the urge to roll his eyes, Munch nodded. “Just don’t bring any cops home with you.”
“Aw, no promises.” Tory replied before moving off to join her friends at lunch.
Watching her go, Munch and Fin moved to the stairs before climbing them. On the second floor, they discovered the cops they had sent to follow Drew. “Where’s our boy.”
“Missing. Teacher said he went to the bathroom about ten minutes ago…he never came back.”
“I’m surprised these three learn anything to pass classes.” Munch mumbled as he brought out his cell phone to alert the others of Drew’s disappearance.
NINE:
It’s like every time one of them went missing it was as if the parents or the detectives always knew where to find them. Part of Drew wondered if maybe they were bugged but that just made him feel as if he trading place with Tory’s father.
Now however he had been picked up at Kleeves Record store (Buying Kat’s birthday gift no less) and was rather oddly brought into the police station in handcuffs. Not one of his finer points.
“Well Drew,” Olivia stated. “Things we do to talk with you.”
“Had a record to buy.”
“Kat?” Fin asked as he entered behind Olivia.
“Birthday is next week.”
“How thoughtful.” Fin stated sitting across from Drew, he watched as Olivia walked behind him. “We got some bad news for you though.”
“Oh?”
“It’s about your sister.” Olivia informed him. “She’s dead.”
“What?” Drew asked with a chuckle. “No she’s over at some prep school. My mom and dad spent tons of cash to get her into it.”
~~~

“It’s not true is it.” Mr. Taylor asked.

“I’m sorry it is.” Elliot stated softly. “Did anyone want to hurt you?”

“No,” Mr. Taylor sobbed. “Andrea was a bright girl. She was liked by the neighborhood. And it’s a good neighborhood—we—we watched out for each other.”

Elliot nodded. “Maybe an accident happened?” Elliot asked.

“What are you saying?” Mr. Taylor snapped. “That I had anything to do with her death?” Pausing he looked at Elliot as he stood. “How dare you? How DARE you!”

“Mr. Taylor.” Elliot soothed standing as well. “I’m just asking formal questions. Perhaps you had a family member that was trying to cover a mistake.”

Sniffing, Mr. Taylor looked at Elliot with a confused look. “Like Andrew? Or my wife?”

“Cousins maybe. Or babysitters.”

“No our only babysitter we trusted was Andrew.” Placing a hand over his face, Mr. Taylor sobbed. “She would have been fifteen this year.”

~~~
Exiting the interrogation room, Elliot looked at Fin and Olivia as they did the same. “Clearly he’s worried about his daughter.”
“When’d you get here?” Elliot asked looking over at Haung.
Giving a cocky smile, Haung looked over at Elliot. “Carsten case. I needed to catch up on my file.” He informed Elliot. “Captain Cragen asked me to look in on your interviews.”
Nodding, Fin looked at Haung as he took a seat next to Elliot. “Drew is playing confused.”
“Maybe dad didn’t tell him about his sister missing.” Elliot guessed. “Like he said the only one he trusted with her was Drew and he adored his little sister.”
“Still…if he loved her that much.” Haung argued, “He would have had talked with his sister while she was away at boarding school…”
“So you think Drew has something to do with it.” Olivia asked.
“Possibly.” Haung answered, “He’s not telling something. His body language is telling you he wants to tell or he’s put off by something or someone but he won’t tell you who or what.”
TEN:
“What did you tell them?”
Swirling his pizza crust in the ranch dressing that was on his plate, Drew shrugged. “Nothing.” He stated. “Didn’t know any thing to say.”
“This is serious Andrew!” Mr. Taylor shouted at him.
“You think I don’t know that!” Drew shouted back. “Andy’s dead. You told me she was at Boarding school!”
“Her name is Andrea. Not that slang name crap.”
“It’s a nickname. She liked it.” Drew fired back.
The hit came as a shock to Drew as it beamed him across the face. Landing on the floor, he coughed.  Reaching up he felt the blood running down to meet his eyebrow. “What!” Drew shouted at him. “Andy is dead! She’s dead!”  Standing, he felt the other fist hit him on the other side of his face.
Glancing up he watched as his dad went to hit him again but this time he was ready for it. Reaching out he grabbed his dad’s wrist and brought him in before kneeing him in the chest. Adding a right hook punch, to his father’s temple, Drew watched his father fall to the ground.
It was then that Drew knew he had to get out of there. Though his father wasn’t moving, Drew knew the type of punishment he would get if when his father woke up.
ELEVEN:
“Some one isn’t telling the truth.” Elliot sighed. “Seriously.” He grumbled tossing the file onto the desk. “Drew doesn’t know why his sister doesn’t come home for Christmas. Dad never calls for anything.”
“You think the dad is covering for the son?”
Shrugging, Elliot looked at Fin as the detective moved into the squad room. “You’ll never guess who just called to let us know about a disturbance.”
“Let me guess Hoover about wire taps on the American people.”
Glaring at his partner, Fin didn’t grace that with a comeback. “Nah man,” Fin stated. “The Hotel, you know where Drew and his dad are shacked up in.”
“I’ll be damned.” Olivia muttered. Grabbing her coat she followed after Elliot and barely registered Fin and Munch coming with them.
~~~~

What Drew would give for his cell phone or a new change of clothes as the rain pelted down on his head. Reaching a phone booth, he turned his back to the street before rummaging for a quarter in his pocket and calling Kat’s Cell phone.

“Kat’s phone.”

“Hey you.” Drew stated. Closing his eyes, he was happy just to hear her voice.

“Drew!” Kat cried.

“Tell him to get his ass over here!”

Chuckling at Tory’s voice on the end of her the line, Drew leaned against the glass of the phone booth. “Hi Tory.”

“Drew says hi.”

“Ooohhhh.”

“Hey Kat…” Drew stated. “You two allowed out.”

“Uh yeah. But we’re working on the Chem project.”

“I vote for Club hopping!” Tory bellowed on the other end of the phone.

Swallowing, Drew nodded. “Well uh maybe you could break for a burger and a drink. You know you two could meet me at Larry’s.” He paused. “My Treat. You get to test out your temps.”

“Har-Har.” Kat stated. “Just because you and Tory know how to drive and I’m learning doesn’t mean anything.”

“Well meet me at Larry’s.” Drew stated. “Maybe we could do some drivers Ed in a parking lot.”

Rolling her eyes on her end, Kat looked at Tory as her friend chewed on a twizzler. “Yeah we’ll be there in ten.” Kat stated. “Love you.”

“Love you too.”

TWELVE:
 Larry’s Snack Shack
476 Garden St.

Entering Larry, Kat’s eyes rested on Drew sitting in the back. Followed by Kat she moved to sit in the back noticing that Drew was bent over. “Drew?”

“Hey.” Drew stated. Glancing up he looked at them.

“Oh my god.” Tory stated sitting next to Kat. “What happened?”

“I—uh—got into a fight. You know with some kids in Brooklyn.”

“Why were you in Brooklyn?” Kat asked.

“Best French fires in the world.” Drew commented. “Listen, I don’t want my dad to see me like this. I was uh wondering if I could crash at one of your guy’s places?”

“Hello our dads are cops.” Kat answered. “We can’t just bring you in and expect to have nothing asked.”

“Right, sorry.”

“I know some one who can take you in for a night.” Tory informed him. “I mean, I know he’d do it for me but…we can ask right.”

~~~~~
“Neighbors to the room heard shouting and then well a thud and the kid running out.” The hotel manager stated. “Went to key myself in but I figured I’d wait.”
“Right.” Elliot stated. “How about you give me the key and move away from the door.”
“Yeah, sure, what ever.”
Taking the key, Elliot unlatched his gun before unlocking the door and opening the door. Scanning the room, Elliot’s eyes spotted the groaning figure of Mr. Taylor. “Get a bus!” He told Olivia before moving into the room. “Mr. Taylor.”
“Get away.” Was the only response he got.
“Mr. Taylor who did this to you?” Elliot asked reaching up for a towel and pressing it against the cut on Mr. Taylor’s head.
“Andrew…he went off.” Mr. Taylor grunted. “Just like…just like with Andrea.”
Swallowing, Elliot let Olivia take over before moving over to Munch and Fin. “We need to find Drew.” He told them. “Get some one over to talk to Kat and Tory. And the Karate school owner…Wong.”
“What about?” Fin asked.
“The murder of his sister.” Elliot sighed. “Just see if Drew has any violent tendencies. Don’t let Kat know what is going on. Just tell her we are looking for Drew.”
“Got it.” Fin replied before leaving with Munch.
“Told you.”
“What?”
“Tory would be involved.”
“Just shut up and drive.” Fin snapped back at Munch.
THIRTEEN:
Wong's School of Martial Arts
469 5th Street
Listening to the soft music, James Wong worked alone through the kata. The sword balanced gently in his hand as if flowed through one hand to another. A loud knocking on the door, however, broke his peace. Lowering the sword, he reached over to turn off the music before heading to the front door.
“Hey Mr. Wong.” Tory greeted.
“Tory,” He greeted back before stepping aside to allow all three soggy teenagers to enter. “Kat, Drew.”
“Hey.” The two others said at once.
Watching Drew move away, Wong turned his attention to Tory. “Care to explain?” He asked after a minute.
“Drew needs a place to stay for a night or two.” Tory stated. Fidgeting she gave him a loose smile. “I figure that since you offered it to me, maybe he could take my place.”
Sighing, Wong nodded. “Very well.” He said. “Drew…why you don’t go into my office. I need to talk with Tory alone.” Nodding his head, he watched as Kat went after Drew.
Watching her friends leave her with Wong, Tory crossed her arms over her chest. “Tory the offer was so you don’t get angry at your father and leave town.”
“I know.” Tory replied. “And me and my dad we’re on a higher plain.”
“Really?”
“Yeah we rarely speak with each other unless it’s necessary.”
Glaring at Tory, Wong sighed. “Why does he need to stay here?”
“He and some guys from Brooklyn got into it.” Tory told him. “That’s what he told us. Didn’t want his dad to see him this way. I suggested you.”
~~~

“You sure we can trust Mr. Wong?” Drew asked Kat after a minute.

A light laugh escaped Kat’s lips as she leaned back in Drew’s arms. “Of course.” She told him. “Trust me…the guy is solid.”

“Solid?” Drew asked. “Tory word.”

Nodding, Kat looked up to kiss Drew on the chin. “I’ll come by tomorrow and check on you. Maybe give you a ride to school?”

“Lord help us.” Drew joked.

“I’m not that bad!”

“Tell that to the laundry baskets you ran over.”

Playfully slapping Drew on the arm, Kat was silent as Tory and Wong entered. “Time to go?” She asked Tory.

“Yeah.” Tory replied. “We’ve got to get back you know before our parents put out warrants for our arrests for not doing our Chem project.”

“You girls will be in class tomorrow at four?”

“Count me in.” Tory stated.

“And me!” Kat added. Kissing Drew gently she gave him a loose smile before leaving the dojo with Tory.

Both girls were silent as they drove home. They both knew Drew’s story didn’t hold up since Drew rarely went to Brooklyn and well they all agreed that fries there weren’t that good.

Reaching the Stabler residence, both girls went to enter only to be met by Kathy at the door. “Girls.” She greeted opening the door to reveal Munch and Fin.

FOURTEEN:

“I don’t know where he is.” Tory told Fin.

“Kat’s mom said you two booked out of here about a half hour ago.”

“We wanted a burger.” Tory told him.

~~~
“Where did you go?”
“Larry’s.” Kat informed Munch. “Best Burgers in New York.”
“I’m sure they are.”
~~~

“Haven’t heard from Drew at all?” Fin asked.

“Nope,” Tory answered. “What the boy do?”

“Can’t tell you yet.” Fin sighed. “You’ll tell us if you hear from him.”

~~~~
“Of course.” Kat answered. “What he do?”
“Assault.” Munch answered after a minute. “Your boyfriend hasn’t called you at all.”
“No, but then again my dad is cop. We’d probably be the last ones he call in order to avoid getting caught.”
~~~

“Mind if I see your phone?”

“What?” Tory asked.

“Your phone.”

“Yeah, I do. Got a warrant for it?”

~~~~
“You can give it to me freely.” Munch told Kat after a minute. Sitting across from her in the kitchen, he wondered how Fin was doing with Tory in the living room.
“Well it’s my phone.” Kat told him. “I’ve got rights to privacy.”
“Kat he’s in trouble.” Munch told her.
~~~

“Well I don’t know where he is.” Tory informed Fin.

“Sure you do.” Fin told her. “That’s why you’re playing dumb.”

“It’s a Munch trait.”

Scowling Fin paced the living room floor. Now he was wondering why Munch had even agreed to allow Tory to stay in New York. But with her stepfather and her mother being angry at her like there was no tomorrow, Fin knew Tory had no place else to go. “Tory. If you hear from him let me know.” Holding out his card, Fin pulled it away from Tory when the girl went to take it. “Promise.”

“Yeah sure. Promise.” Troy stated taking the card when it was offered again. Glancing at her father when he exited the kitchen followed by Kat, Tory saw Kat too had a card. “Hi Dad.”

“Tory.”  Munch stated before leaving. “We leave a unit.” He told Fin. “Twiddle dee and twiddle dum are playing dumb.”

FIFTEEN:

Watching Drew for a minute longer, Wong motioned for Drew to sit. “SO what am I to do with you?” Wong asked.

Pulling back his hood, Drew shrugged letting Wong get a full look at him. “I don’t know. Won’t exactly be a comforting talking will it?”

“Depends.” Wong replied. “Why’d you really go to Brooklyn?”

“Wanted French Fries.”

Sighing Wong went to say something else hearing the knock on his door yet again. “Stay here and out of sight.” Wong told Drew. He didn’t need anymore trouble by breaking up a fight yet again.

Watching Wong, Elliot stuffed his hands into his pockets as he looked around the work out room. “Mr. Wong.”

“Detective Stabler” Wong greeted. “Can I help you?” He asked not knowing Drew was eavesdropping behind the office door.

“I’m looking for Drew Taylor.”

“He’s in trouble?”

“Could be.” Elliot replied. “We want to talk to him about something that happened to his father.”

“Oh?”

Glancing at Wong, Elliot knew that Wong use to be a cop. He had done the background check on him when he had read Tory so well when Elliot and even her father had miss read the symptoms of an angry divorced child. “Yeah…you haven’t seen him.”

No.” Wong replied after a minute. “I wish I could help.”

Nodding, Elliot knew that if Wong knew where Drew was he would tell. The man had been a cop after all! Why would he impede an investigation? “Call me if you hear from him.”

Taking the card Wong looked at it. “Of course Mr. Stabler.” Watching Elliot leave, Wong moved back to the office where Drew had been stashed.  “Why should I keep you here?”

“Because, I’m one of your students.”

“Not good enough.”

“You like a challenge.”

“I’ve got Tory as a student. That’s enough challenge for me.” Wong replied. “Why are you here?”

Biting his lip, Drew looked down at the ground before feeling his lip quiver. “Because I have no where else to go!” Unable to stop it, Drew began to ramble the story of his father’s abuse to him and then to Andrea when she had come into the world. Though it ad stopped shortly after Andrea had gone into ‘boarding school’ Drew now guess that his father had killed Andrea and hid her. He had been on some camping trip or something when it happened.

“All right.” Wong stated squeezing Drew’s shoulder as he stood. He knew he couldn’t turn him over to Elliot on a night like this. Not when the kid was so torn up. Who knew what he would say to the Detectives. “Up stairs is a guest bedroom with a private bath…go take a shower and get some sleep.”

Nodding, Drew left the office before turning back to look at Wong staring out at the rain. Walking back to his teacher’s side, Drew stood next to him his arms crossed over his chest. “Thanks.”

SIXTEEN:

The morning didn’t look any brighter to Drew when Wong woke him up. He had known the morning would be the day he would face the cops. After all Wong had been one and he knew Wong wouldn’t hide a person wanted for questioning forever.

Swallowing some breakfast, he got into the car with Wong before realizing he hadn’t covered up his own wounds and bruises, which had been uncovered by the shower.

Following Wong in, Drew knew he had a chance to run every step of the way. However he didn’t…Kat wouldn’t benefit from him running. Not now when she had probably lied on if she knew where he was.

“Detective Stabler.”

“I’m seriously not in the mood—Mr. Wong.” Elliot greeted before yawning. Like the others he had been working all night on the case hopping that Drew would resurface.  “What can I do…for…you.” He trailed off as Wong stepped aside to reveal Drew who was fumbling again with the hole in the hoodie’s sleeve.

SEVENTEEN:

“You’ll treat him fairly.” Wong asked Elliot after a minute.

Nodding, Elliot looked at Drew as the boy sat alone in the interrogation room. He wondered how it came to this and why he was never harsh with Tory or Kat. Rolling his shoulders back, he entered the interrogation room. “You father was released from the hospital.”

“Cool.” Drew stated.

Looking over the bruises on Drew’s face. “He fought back?”

Drew shrugged.

“You need to talk to me.” Elliot told him. “I’m the only friend you have against your father’s version.”

Shrugging, Drew looked at him. “If he said I beat him. I beat him up.” Drew muttered.

“That simple.”

“Yeah, whatever.” Drew said apathetically.

“All right.” Elliot stated. Turning he heard the knock on the glass. “Excuse me.” He told Drew before standing and exiting the room. “Hey.”

“Hey.” Olivia greeted. “Where’d you find him?”

“Wong brought him in.” Elliot told her. “What’s that.”

“The Taylor’s bought a pool about five years ago. They place it above the area where his wife use to keep a garden. However her run with cancer was six years and she gave up the garden shortly before the cancer was discovered.”

“So.”

Opening the file, she pointed to the freshly dug dirt. “Drew was out of town. He was with his aunt and uncle.”

“So he couldn’t have killed his sister.” Elliot replied. “According to everyone I’ve talked too, Drew was at Camp when his sister disappeared.”

“The one person that was home was—“

“His father.”

Closing his eyes, Elliot looked at Drew as the boy rested his head against the table in the room. “Thanks.” He told Olivia before moving out into the squad room. “Get Troy Taylor in here.” He snapped at Munch and Fin before picking up his phone. “Hey George…it’s Elliot. I need a favor.”

EIGHTEEN:

Walking back and forth in the room, Haung looked at Drew. “Do you prefer Andrew or Drew?”

“Drew’s fine.”

Nodding, Haung didn’t glance back at Elliot or the others that were watching him. “Could we talk about your sister Andrea?”

Glancing at Haung, Drew shrugged. “Whatever.”

“You liked having a little sister didn’t you?”

“At times.”

“Well other then the times that she got into your things and got you into trouble.”

“Yeah. Minus those times.”

“Why?”

Looking at Haung, Drew was confused. “Because she was my little sister. Sure, she was a pain always getting her way because she was the baby of the family but she was my sister. No one messes with my sister.”

“What about your father?”

Haung watched Drew shrug.

“The Detectives said you hit him and ran.” Haung informed him. “They also said that you probably did the same with Andrea.”

“I didn’t.”

“Who did?”

Again, Drew said nothing.

“Drew,” Haung asked after a minute. “Did some one else hurt Andrea?”

Not saying anything Haung backed away from the subject. “What do you like in school? Gym, English?”

“First Hour, I’m an office assistant. You know giving out hall passes, early dismissal slips.” He told Haung.

“Sounds interesting. Lot of Trust is involved in that kind of deal.”

“Not really.” Drew countered. “Secretaries are always around. We just help them around. You know collect attendance sheets.”

Nodding, Haung leaned against the glass and looked at Drew. “Have you ever filled out passes for Kat and Tory?”

“At times. Kat got a note to come home early. Gave it to her.”

“You like hanging out with Kat Stabler and Tory Munch?”

Shrugging Drew looked at Haung. “Yeah. They’re fun to be with.”

“Would Andrea have liked them?”

A snort came from Drew. “Hell Yeah. Tory especially.”

“Really?” Haung asked. “Why Tory?”

“Because Tory…Tory doesn’t take crap from anyone.” Drew told him.

Haung nodded and gave Drew a soft smile. “Would anyone have a problem with Andrea being like that?”

“Not really. Well my da-“

Looking at Drew when he stopped, Haung raised an eyebrow. “What about him?”

“Nothing. Forget about it.”

Thinking, Haung looked at Drew. “Would your mom have liked them?”

“She’d like Kat.” Drew replied. “Tory would worry her but she always trusted my judgment.”

“Lots of people trust you.” Haung agreed. “Detective Stabler, Kat, Tory, Mr. Wong, your coach, teachers.” Pausing he decided that he needed to get an honest answer from Drew. “What about your dad?”

“I guess.”

“You guess?” Shrugging Drew again went silent. Watching him, Haung sighed. “Want a drink?” He asked. “My treat.”

“Sprite…if these guys have it.”

“Sure.” Haung told him before leaving the interrogation room. Looking at Elliot he shook his head. “I can’t get him to crack. He wants to tell. It’s there on his face, he wants to tell some one. But it’s not me.” Sighing he paused before going to get the pop. “What about some one he all ready trusts?"

“Wong brought him in.”

“Not Wong.” Haung told Elliot. “Maybe some one closer.”

NINETEEN:

“What am I suppose to say?”

Looking at Kat, Haung shrugged. “School, Fun times,” He told her as he leaned against her father’s desk. “Kat I can’t tell you anything that you could use to make him feel uncomfortable.”

Standing, Kat tied part of her shawl around her fingers. “What if I can’t do this?"

“You’ll do fine.” Haung told her. “It’s just talking to him.”

“With everyone listening!”

Giving her a gentle smile, Haung squeezed her shoulder. “I’m the only one listening to him.”

“Right.” Kat muttered. “Okay…I can do this.”

“All right.” Leading her to the room, Haung caught Elliot’s eyes knowing how dangerous it was on using Kat to get Drew to talk. It wasn’t the safest way to get a statement from some one. “Kat one more thing.”

“Yeah,”

“How did he get the bruises on his face?”

Giving a loose smile, Kat looked at the ground. “Brooklyn. He said he went there for food and ran into rival school jocks.”

Nodding, Haung moved away from the door and motioned for her to go in.

Drew looked over at the door from where he stood looking out the window to see Kat. “I thought you were in school.”

“Took a page from Tory’s book.” Kat told him with a loose smile. “How you doing?”

“I’m good.” Drew replied. “You.”

“Worried that my dad is gonna bust me for skipping school.”

Laughing, Drew sat across from Kat when his girlfriend sat at the table. “You know you shouldn’t have come to see me.”

“I wanted to.”

Kat’s answer surprised him. “I suppose your dad told you, my dad’s side of the story.”

“A little of it.”

On his side of the glass, Haung smiled. “Good answer, Kat.” He whispered.

“Well I didn’t.” Drew replied. “I mean, well, some of its true.”

“Some of it?”

Shifting in his chair, Drew picked at a corner of the table that was coming off. “I didn’t go to Brooklyn.” He told her. “My dad, he…”

Watching Drew trail off, Kat moved close to him. Bending down next to him, she rubbed her thumb over his free hand. “What?”

“He wanted to know what I told the cops.” Drew mumbled. “I told him, I didn’t know anything about Andy’s disappearance.” He began to quiver as he looked at her, “He started to yell at me and then he hit me.” Drew cried. Feeling Kat’s arms around him, Drew nestled his head into Kat’s neck wrapping his arms around her.

“Good job, Kat.” Haung muttered before moving out to the squad room. Letting his eyes rest on Mr. Taylor enter the squad room in between Munch and Fin, Haung moved over to Elliot’s desk knowing Mr. Taylor was still watching him. “Come on.” He told Elliot before picking up the Sprite can he had promised Drew.

TWENTY:

Entering the interrogation room, Elliot looked at Kat and Drew sitting on the floor under the glass window. “Hey.”

“Hey.” Kat greeted her dad. Keeping her hand gripped with Drew’s she glanced at Haung as the profiler handed Drew the can of pop.

“So Drew.” Elliot asked. “Are you ready to talk?”

Nodding, Drew looked at Kat. “What do you need to know?”

“Where were you when your sister disappeared?”

“Camp. A Few school friends of mine were invited to go camping with another friend—Tony Underwood, I think. My mom let me go.” Drew told Elliot.

“And your dad?”

Silence followed for a minute. Sharing a glance with Haung Elliot began to feel like Kat had told him not to speak.

“He didn’t want me to go.” Drew told him after a minute. “My mom was going out of town because of work and he didn’t want to spend time with Andrea by himself. I wanted to take Andy with me but she was allowed.”

“Who said so?” Haung asked.

“My dad.” Drew replied. “It was a thing of his. He didn’t like us going out a lot of places…it was like a sin or something.”

“And Andrea was missing after you came home.”

“Dad said he got her into some boarding school. Mom agreed seeing that she was trying to get Andy into some school over in England a ballet school.”

“So she danced?” Elliot asked. “Was she any good?”

“Yeah, she was great.” Drew told him. “But there were times.”

“Like?”

“Well when she screwed up this one time—“ Pausing Drew chewed his bottom lip as if struggling to say it. “Dad got really angry with her. I was in my room but I could hear him shouting and then Andy just started to scream.” Feeling Kat squeeze his hand, Drew continued, “He said she fell trying to leave the living room because we have that step but I think he broke her arm on purpose.”

The knot began to grow in Elliot’s stomach. “What about you?”

“Yeah.” Drew answered.

“He hit you too?”

“More then once.” Drew answered.

“Recently?” Haung asked.

“Yeah,” Drew whispered. “He wanted to know what I told Detective Benson and Tutola. I said nothing and he hit me—“

“You fought back?”

“Yeah.”

Nodding, Elliot stood looked at Drew. “Do you think you father could have killed your sister?”

“I don’t know.” Drew stammered. “Maybe.”

“Drew.” Haung asked.

Kissing Drew on the cheek, Kat gave him a soft smile. “It’s all right.”

Nodding, Drew looked at Elliot. “Yes…I think he might have.”

TWENTY-ONE:

Leaving the interrogation room, Elliot looked at the door frame before raising his fist to punch it before lowering his hand. He refused to do it when Kat was near. Gripping his hand tightly into a fist, Elliot lashed out and kicked the trash can across the room.

Moving to his desk, Elliot noticed the note Olivia had left on the Swimming Pool bill. Pulling up the sticky note, he saw the signature on the pool was ‘Troy Taylor’. “That son of a b—“Elliot stated.

Collecting the file, Elliot moved into the interrogation room with Mr. Taylor. “Do you care to revise any part of your statement?”

“No, Andrew assaulted me.”

Nodding, Elliot gave a weak smile. “Kids and Karate.”

“Can’t believe I agreed to let him take those classes. I though his actions with Andrea were bad. You know one time I’m sure he bro—“

“Shut up.” Elliot snapped. Noticing he had Mr. Taylor’s eyes on him in shock. “Just shut up.” Pausing he looked at the other man. “I’ve got your attention? Good. I know you killed Andrea Taylor. I know you beat her and your son.” Tossing the bill on the table, Elliot continued. “What you got the pool and then remembered that her body was there?”

“I can explain.” Mr. Taylor told him quickly. “Let me explain.”

“Save it.” Elliot told him. “I don’t want to hear it.” He told Mr. Taylor before leaving.

TWENTY-TWO:

Leaving Mr. Taylor to be arrested by Munch and Fin, Elliot moved out to stand by Drew, Kat and Haung. “Don’t you two have school?”

“Aw come on Mr. Stabler.” Drew Stated. “Emotionally scared day.”

“Yeah I bet Tory used that a couple times before.”

“I have.” Troy informed them. “Sorry got bored waiting for you on the steps Kat.”

Noticing her dad’s look at her and her boyfriend, Kat shrugged. “I needed some kind of a ride.”

“What is it now Tory? Flu?”

“Appenditis.”

Laughing Elliot nodded. “Fine, go home.” He laughed.

“I swear I didn’t do anything!” Mr. Taylor shouted to Munch and Fin. “On my soul, I didn’t! Andrew tell them, Tell them I didn’t do anything to Andrea.”

Swallowing Drew felt sick and unable to speak. Looking up however he saw Tory and Kat standing in front of him, protecting him. “Back off.”

“What are you going to do girlies?” Mr. Taylor asked Kat.

“We can make you hurt.”

“Oh really?”

Cocking her head to Kat, Tory didn’t smile. “She’s a hair puller.”

“I’m not afraid of two little girls.”

Stepping between them, Elliot looked at Mr. Taylor. “Be scared of me.” He hissed before Mr. Taylor was dragged away.
