He returned to work sooner then expected. Now after attempting to work a case that brought out dangerous memories, Ecklie has ordered Nick into visiting a shrink. With his first meeting of Dagny Sheppard, Nick learns she maybe able to help him even cope with stronger feelings.

It was Nick's idea to bring in Dagny in order to try and figure a new way to figure out a killer. However as soon as she comes with the group, she is met with objections due to Catherine wanting hard facts not theories. But as the two women work their cases, Dagny's mind flashes back and forth from a moment in her own past with the case allowing her and Nick to realize that she too maybe just as damaged as he is. Nick also learns her deepest secret.

They have been working cases that seemingly have been connected. While information seems to disappearing, the team begins to suspect new faces. Sad for Dagny, she is the prime suspect from several members. While her main allies are Nick and Grissom, Dagny and the others soon learn the true meaning of betrayal.

But as all three attempt to get past the fact that Dagny may have 'created' the man they are hunting. Now it's coming to a climax as the team learn of not only Dagny's secret but Nick's relationship with her.
