Ranma 1/2 is questionably Rumiko Takahashi's most famous work. It's either Ranma, or Inuyasha . . mm . . whatever, they're both great mangas anyway . .
OK, picture this: You're a 16 y/o teenage guy with enough issues as it is. Your father took you from home at an early age to make you a "man among men" and a great martial arts master. Your father isn't exactly the fatherly type, either, and the two of you don't get along all that well. Then, your dear old pop decides to take you to these accursed training grounds called Jusenkyo somewhere in China. Even though he doesn't read or speak a word of Chinese, he insists on taking you there. And then, your life turns horribly upside down . .
While training on those accursed grounds, you and your father accidentally fall into one of the many, many springs there in Jusenkyo. No biggie, right? I mean, it's just water . . isn't it?
Hah. It isn't.
You find yourself as a girl, and you find your father as a panda. And from now on, whenever splashed with cold water, you turn into a girl version of yourself. Hot water will turn you back into a guy, but only until the next time . .
As if that isn't enough, you ALSO find out that a long time ago, your father betrothed you to a girl named Akane. You meet her, you don't exactly like her, and she doesn't like you either. In fact, the both of you despise each other, hate each other's guts.
With more fiances and sworn enemies than he can handle, a curse that turns him into a girl, and more issues than ever with a certain fiance of his, Ranma Saotome's life is about to go unbearably crazy . . .
Takahashi-sama's artwork is pretty good, the stories are hilarious and unbelievably kawaii, and . . it's all just plain great!! ^.^ Watch out, though, for a few perverted scenes (Happosai . . the crazy old freak . .), some too-silly stories that you just don't get, and some swearing . . all in all, though, it's just plain good . .
