^^;;;; Okayy... our number 1 Infatuation for the month of April is none other than Sanosuke, from the reallllly cool anime that I've just been getting into, Rurouni Kenshin. Can you believe it? That guy knocked off Miroku from the #1 spot! ^.^ Anyhow...
Sagara Sanosuke was part of a group that was, to my understanding, ordered to tell people that they would halve taxes by the Imperialists, and they only did that so that they could get farmers on their side... later on, though, the Imperialists had a bunch of financial problems, and they couldn't afford to halve taxes. So they decided to frame the Sekihoutai and say that they were just a false army group, and that they were lying. They kill all of the Sekihoutai, and Sanosuke is the only survivor. (Later in the series, he meets up with his old friend, Katsu, who is also from the Sekihoutai. I'm not sure if this is just in the anime, or if it was also in the manga, so...) Anyhow, because of that, Sano has this HUGE grudge against the Imperialists, and to no wonder.
He meets Kenshin, and fights him, wanting to defeat him because he was said to be the strongest Imperialist. Later on, however, he figures out that Kenshin was not one of those ruthless Imperialists, joins the Kenshin Gumi, and starts to follow Kenshin around, telling him that he is going to see with his own eyes if he is really not a con Imperialist.
On his back is the kanji for "evil" or "wicked" or something similar to that. He also has a zanbantou, which is pretty much a big sword... Kenshin broke it in one of the earlier episodes, I think in episode 4.
He fights with Yahiko a lot, who is one of Kaoru's students at the dojo. They seem a lot like brothers. ^.^
As the series goes on, he develops a sort of love/hate romance with Takani Megumi, a flirtatious (SP?) doctor who flirts with Kenshin just to piss Kaoru off. He calls her "kitsune" which means "fox".. or so I've heard, anyway, after all, I've only watched a few episodes, and only one of them has Megumi in it. "Megitsune" is his nickname for her.. combining her first name "Megumi" with the Japanese word for "fox" which is "kitsune." I am a HUGE fan of Sano/Megumi! ^__^ Which explains why most of my RK fics are Sano/Megumi.. sadly, they don't end up together... *middle finger twitches*
Sanosuke is also very, very, very, VERY cute. ^__^ But hey, I'm sure you figured that out already. He's a humorous kind of guy, cusses more than anyone in the series, and is a great and outstanding fighter, though not as good as Kenshin.
^____^ We love him. -^-^- (But I think that's just me.. since everyone's kinda deserted me with making the site..!! .. ah well, I can do whatever I want now! *::laughs evilly::*)
Ooh, with Trangie, The Candy Holic, and me, ~*!fireblaze~*!, we figured out that all our #1 anime guys have names that end with "e." Trangie's number one guy is Daisuke from DN Angel, The Candy Holic's number one guy is Tamahome from Fushigi Yugi, and mine is Sanosuke... ^.^ He's so friggin cuuute..... *::goes starry eyed::*
